Chapter 24: I’m Going to Leave Right Now

The warm water enveloped her instantly. Even though only a second had passed, the pain in her body subsided.

Gu Qingxin lowered her head and continued to cry her heart out.

Her crystal-clear teardrops fell into the bathwater, a sight that upset Beiming Han.

He reached out to tuck her hair behind her ears. However, the slightest movement from him seemed to shock Gu Qingxin deeply. She lifted her head and stared at him in horror as her body seemed to recoil and shrink, a sight that left him speechless.

The atmosphere grew tense as he silently watched her for a few seconds before he suddenly rose and took large strides out of the bathroom.

When the door slammed shut, Gu Qingxin finally breathed a sigh of relief and slowly drew her knees to her chest to submerge her entire body in the water.

After a few minutes, the bathroom door was opened once again.

Gu Qingxin’s body stiffened as she was very afraid that the man had returned.

When she turned around and saw a group of women clad in navy dresses approach her, her panicked heart started to calm down.

The person leading the group was a middle-aged woman with her hands clasped and placed before her abdomen. Her posture was extremely straight, and it was obvious that she was someone who had been through strict, rigorous training.

“Hello, Madam. I work here as the assistant housekeeper. You can call me Housekeeper Yao.”

The housekeeper’s gaze was laced with faint contempt. She was under the impression that Gu Qingxin had resorted to unscrupulous means to crawl into Beiming Han’s bed.

“Is anything the matter?” Gu Qingxin asked as she wrapped her arms around herself. She was not used to people standing by her side and watch her during a bath, even if they were all women.

“Master Beiming has instructed us to serve you during your bath. The water in the bathtub is not plain water. Even though you can’t smell anything, this is actually medicated bathwater with great anti-inflammatory effects, especially for small wounds. It also can strengthen your body if you soak in it regularly. Master Beiming is the only person who can use this medicated bathwater,” Housekeeper Yao explained.

Gu Qingxin was taken aback. It was no wonder that the pain she felt had significantly lessened after she soaked in the bathwater for a short while.

The pain was now within a range that she could endure.

Now that she was hurting less, her brain could finally function normally again. She suddenly thought of a serious problem, what happened to Qianqian last night after Beiming Han abducted her?

Her mother must be anxious since she did not return home last night.

At these thoughts, Gu Qingxin could not bear to continue to soak in the bathtub and grabbed a towel beside her and wrapped it around her body before she stood up to leave.

“Madam, what are you trying to do? Master Beiming has instructed that you soak in the bathtub for at least one hour before you can leave,” Housekeeper Yao said with a frown.

“That’s not necessary. I’m going to leave right now,” Gu Qingxin replied as she stepped out of the bathtub and started to walk out.

“Madam, your hair is still wet. You’ll catch a cold if you go out like that,” Housekeeper Yao reminded Gu Qingxin as she firmly kept her responsibilities in mind.

“I… I need to give my mother a call,” Gu Qingxin said as she grabbed Housekeeper Yao’s arm with an anxious look on her face.

“Ah… Let me ask Master Beiming about this.”

“Where is Beiming Han right now? I’m going to look for him,” Gu Qingxin said as she felt worried about her mother and Bai Qianqian. She released her grip on Housekeeper Yao and continued to walk out.

“Madam, you cannot call Master Beiming by his name in this place. You have to address him respectfully,” Housekeeper Yao reminded her unhappily.

“…” Gu Qingxin was preoccupied with the thought about how she had stayed out all night and wondered how anxious her mother must be.

Her worries included Qianqian as well. What happened to her friend after she was abducted by Beiming Han?

The more she thought about these things, the more anxious Gu Qingxin grew. She paid no attention to Housekeeper Yao’s intervention and rushed out of the bathroom.
