Chapter 23: Peculiar Disappearance

In fact, the Saintess was rather frustrated at this moment too. It was not because the battle was too effortless for them to win but because she had learned about her own abilities.

In the beginning, the Dwarfs obviously didn’t expect the blue lotus flowers to be this powerful. What made them even more alarmed was the fact that they felt a burning sensation when the lotus flowers appeared.

However, that burning sensation soon disappeared and became numbness, followed by a stinging pain. The Dwarfs were extremely familiar with flames, but when they encountered these flames, they had no choice but to scream while being at a loss for what to do.

As they screamed, they gradually turned into ashes.

The Saintess had seen this move of Tang Sen’s more than once, but as Tang Sen used it more and more, the Blue Lotus Sword Song’s power increased bit by bit. Although the increase was insignificant at first, there was basically nobody who would be confident that they could escape under such flames.

Without the system’s existence, he likely would’ve been controlled by those Dwarfs and ended up as a material for forging. Of course, if the system did not enhance his abilities, Tang Sen would’ve been extinguished by water in the beginning.

As she stared at Tang Sen—who was hanging his head low peculiarly—the Saintess actually knew that one of the main reasons why things had developed to this point was her impulsiveness.

“Get up.” Tang Sen looked at the Saintess in front of him, who was a little feeble-looking. He couldn’t get used to it. Nonetheless, he couldn’t help but comfort her. “I know what happened today has nothing to do with you.”

In fact, Tang Sen was right. He was well aware that the Saintess had actually tried her best to fight with all her might, so she shouldn’t be blamed.

Tang Sen had also understood this.

“Seems like we’ve formed a feud with the Dwarfs.” The Aquila Tribe’s Chief seemed to have found it a pity, but it made sense for him to feel that way.

Despite saying so, the Chief nonetheless got his people to clear up the traces of the Dwarfs’ appearance. Although it was not a major matter, the Dwarfs’ disappearance would definitely cause others to think of him.

Although many days had passed, nothing major happened. No Dwarfs showed up at their door either.

“In the beginning, I thought that humans were the ones who did it, so I specifically got someone to stay on guard for several days. I also asked around and found out that there hadn’t been any humans in the past few days from those that I’m close to.”

Tang Sen listened to what the Saintess said with a look of praise in his eyes. He was very satisfied with the Saintess’s way of handling matters these days.

“It’s someone from the Capricorn Tribe,” said the Saintess with some tears on her face. The investigation’s outcome was clearly beyond her expectations. “After the Capricorn Tribe took our people away, they ate them up.”

After saying that, the Saintess finally burst into tears. She had clearly been suppressing her feelings regarding this matter for a long time.

Tang Sen could perceive her anger and melancholy.
