Chi Wan’s voice took on a sorrowful tone as if she was about to sob. When she uttered the last few words, the forced smile she was wearing on her face was gradually taken over by her underlying pain.

The scent of her body danced around Huo Tianye’s nose as her curvy figure neared him.

Yet, her hands formed an intriguing distance between both of them as she gripped the back of his chair. She did not touch him at all.

The enticing smell was close but Huo Tianye could not touch her. A warm sensation formed in his lower abdomen and he became fidgety.

He thought of how Chi Wan would have belonged to him. However, she was no longer “pure”. Flames of jealousy engulfed him, which intensified his burning desire.

He grabbed Chi Wan’s waist and pulled her close.

At the same time, the director yelled, “Cut!”

“Good!”

Director Liu clapped when he finished speaking.

Chi Wan heaved a sigh of relief. She stood up and her expression returned to its usual coolness. She bowed to the director.

“Thank you, Director Liu. That’s all for my audition.”

Huo Tianye stood up as well. His face was expressionless, but his gaze had darkened.

“Your acting is very good, but…”

As an experienced director, Director Liu had always been honest in his feedback.

She chuckled. “I just think that the character, Que’er, shouldn’t be making seductive actions.”

Director Liu regarded her with an intrigued expression, then glanced at the sullen Huo Tianye.

“Hmm, you’re right. Chi Wan, I forgot to inform you and your managing company that I’ve decided, at the last minute, to cast Best Actor Huo as the film’s second male lead.”

He slowed down and added when he noticed Chi Wan’s unchanged expression. “Your acting skills fit Que’er’s personality very well. If you’re fine with it, I would like to have you onboard.”

When she heard this, Chi Wan felt both excited and worried. She was excited to get what she wished for, but she was also worried because she had to spend at least two or three months on the same set as Huo Tianye…

After considering for a while, she decided to respond with a nod.

“It’s an honor. Thank you for giving me this opportunity, Director Liu.”

“Excellent. Tonight, someone will head over to Dong Yu to discuss the relevant details with all of you.”
