He lowered his gaze as if he was deep in thought. After a while, he spoke, “I’ll find out what happened. As for now, you’ll dress up and accompany me at the banquet downstairs.”

Chi Wan tightened her fists and said softly, “I’m sorry.”

They could have separated there and then, but it looked like they could not do it now.

The elevator doors had just slid open when glaring lights pierced Chi Wan’s eyes.

The people around them merely took photos but did not ask questions. Chi Wan felt relieved.
