Shu Joy stepped down from the stage, always feeling a blazing gaze fixed on her.

She stood there, then looked around.

When Zhou Yanlin stepped off the stage, he purposely glanced at Shu Joy and noticed that she was talking with a little boy next to her, probably a classmate, and the two seemed quite engaged.

Lu Xinxin saw him come down and joyfully said, “Yan Lin, you spoke so well, the championship of the middle school division must be yours.”

Zhou Yanlin nodded politely but didn’t speak, settling back into his seat.

Yet, his heart felt as if it was stuffed with cotton, somewhat uncomfortable.

The competition continued.

The final outcome didn’t disappoint expectations: Zhou Yanlin was the champion of the middle school division, and Shu Joy was the champion of the senior primary division.

When they went up to receive their awards, the two of them stood next to each other.

A smile finally appeared on Zhou Yanlin’s face.

After the competition ended, they both came down, and Zhou Yanlin said to Shu Joy, “Congratulations.”

Shu Joy smiled and replied, “Congratulations.”

Then they looked at each other and smiled, each feeling as giddy as a fool.

Afterwards, Shu Joy had to leave, and Zhou Yanlin watched her go.

Until her car drove away into the distance, Zhou Yanlin then returned to the school with his classmates.

Lu Xinxin looked at Zhou Yanlin’s happy appearance and felt a sadness in her heart because she had witnessed that recent scene.

On the way back, she behaved unusually, staring out the window the whole time; her classmates thought she was upset because she hadn’t performed well and hadn’t won a prize.

Because everyone else left her alone.
