Chapter 913: Chapter 912: The Scent of Perfume

Wen Chi was driving past Ruyi Xuan when he suddenly remembered that Huanhuan loved the congee from this place. Checking the time, she probably hadn’t gone to bed yet.

So, Wen Chi parked his car and walked into the store. As its fame suggested, there was a long line waiting to buy congee. Wen Chi also patiently lined up, thinking that as long as Gu Huanhuan could enjoy the delicious congee, all this effort was worth it.

The staff were quick, and soon it was Wen Chi’s turn. He packed a serving of seafood congee along with some side dishes.

When he got home, he saw Gu Huanhuan in the living room, flipping through a book.

Upon hearing the door open, she looked up, “You’re back? I almost fell asleep?”

Gu Huanhuan complained.

“Don’t wait up for me next time, just go to sleep,” Wen Chi said, feeling a bit sorry for her, considering her filming schedule often deprived her of enough rest, “But since you’re still up, I packed some congee from Ruyi Xuan. Come and eat.”

“Wow, that’s great, I’m really hungry right now,” Gu Huanhuan said a bit unreservedly.

She opened the package and even took a deep sniff as if it was some rare delicacy in front of her.

Wen Chi smiled gently, watching her childlike behavior lift his spirits.

Gu Huanhuan sipped the congee and exclaimed in admiration.

The congee from Ruyi Xuan was indeed famous, smooth and melted right in the mouth, with a faint fragrance lingering.

Wen Chi sat next to her, and suddenly, a faint perfume scent came to his nose, not the kind she liked, and she rarely wore perfume.

Gu Huanhuan asked covertly, “Did you have a class reunion tonight?”

Unaware of Gu Huanhuan’s intentions, Wen Chi naturally replied, “Just a few college friends.”

“Oh,” Gu Huanhuan frowned slightly.

“Gao Jie has always been a networking master. With his call, many classmates would show up. It was arranged before he returned to the country.”

“Hmm, it’s rare to gather together after so long,” Gu Huanhuan said somewhat absently, really wanting to ask him about the perfume scent, but worried that Wen Chi might think she was being suspicious.

The perfume scent was clearly a woman’s, but having female classmates was perfectly fine; she was just being too sensitive.

“Hurry up and eat, then rest well,” Wen Chi said as he gently stroked her head, speaking affectionately.

His dark eyes were filled with Gu Huanhuan’s reflection, how could he ever see enough?

“Hmm, but I guess I won’t be able to finish it. You help me eat some,” Gu Huanhuan said, already spooning a mouthful of congee to his lips.

Wen Chi took a bite, the rich flavor tantalized his taste buds. Only then did he realize he hadn’t really eaten much that evening and was actually quite hungry.

The two of them took turns feeding each other, thoroughly enjoying the meal.

As they went to bed, Gu Huanhuan cuddled in his arms, and Wen Chi kissed her forehead before saying, “Huanhuan, what would you think if I stopped being a doctor?”

The body in his arms stiffened, then Gu Huanhuan responded, “It’s okay if you don’t continue as a doctor. You’re so talented, I support whatever decision you make.”

Wen Chi slowly said, “I won’t know the results of the investigation until next week, but because of this incident, I feel quite helpless.”

Gu Huanhuan knew that this matter hit Wen Chi hard, as being questioned about the work he loved was distressing for anyone.
