Chapter 37 Curse

Xia Ran almost dropped the knife in her hand when Mu Hua shouted at her. She could hear the anger in the man’s voice.

What surprised her even more was that Zhu Qian actually held back. She wasn’t afraid of being blinded at all.

“How much longer are you going to keep this up?” Mu Hua walked up to Xia Ran and snatched the knife from her hand. His expression was frighteningly cold, and his eyes were filled with reproach and anger.

Not knowing how to answer, Xia Ran opened her mouth in a daze.

She felt something inside her shatter even more.

Zhu Qian saw this scene and was amused. She pretended to be unaware. “What’s wrong? Mu Hua, did something happen to Xia Ran? Why aren’t you talking to me?”

After Xia Ran’s commotion, Mu Hua completely believed that Zhu Qian was blind.

“It’s fine,” Mu Hua said gently. “Go back and rest. I have something to discuss with her.”

“Okay, Mu Hua, can you walk me back to my room first? I almost fell when I fumbled my way here just now,” Zhu Qian said pitifully.

Mu Hua glanced at Xia Ran and saw that she looked dejected. She seemed to have lost her vitality and looked very pitiful.

He planned to discipline her later. She was getting more and more unruly.

Mu Hua held Zhu Qian and brought her back to her room while Xia Ran stood there motionlessly.

“Mu Hua, she’s still young and ignorant. Don’t be too harsh.” Zhu Qian knew that she was going to succeed soon. Before that, she had to build up the image of someone full of kindness and innocence as quickly as possible.

“Well, you don’t have to worry about that. Just rest and recuperate,” Mu Hua advised, not bothering to explain.

When they reached the room, Mu Hua helped Zhu Qian sit on the bed and lifted the blanket for her. He wanted her to sleep for a while, but he saw something under the pillow and took it out.

After he took it out, Mu Hua’s expression changed!

“Mu Hua, I can sleep by myself. Hurry up and talk to Xia Ran.” Zhu Qian saw Mu Hua’s every move and was extremely smug, but she still pretended not to see it.

Mu Hua held the thing in his hand, anger burning in his eyes. Then he roared, “Xia Ran! Come here!!”

In the other room, Xia Ran also heard it. She was still immersed in her sadness and rushed into the second bedroom after being shouted at.

“Mu Hua…” Xia Ran called.

“What is this?!” Mu Hua threw the thing in his hand into Xia Ran’s arms. She was caught off guard.

There was a piece of paper stuck to a tattered rag doll. Zhu Qian’s name was written on it and there were silver needles stuck in it, like it was a curse.

Xia Ran was so frightened that he threw the puppet on the ground while feeling that it was very creepy and scary.

“What is this?!” Xia Ran’s tone changed.

Mu Hua asked coldly, “You’re asking me? Shouldn’t you be asking yourself?”

Xia Ran’s eyes widened in shock. “Ask me? How would I know? I’ve never bought such a doll!”

“Doll?” Zhu Qian pretended not to know. She asked blankly, “What is that thing?”

Mu Hua didn’t know how to respond when he saw her innocent look. “Get some rest. I’ll take her for a talk.”

With that, Mu Hua took Xia Ran’s hand and left after closing the door behind them.

This was his last bit of protection for Xia Ran.

“Mu Hua! Let go of me! My hand is almost broken by you!” Xia Ran felt that Mu Hua was using a lot of force. Pain came from her wrist, so she could only shout.

Hearing Xia Ran’s words, Mu Hua realized that he had lost control of his anger and let go of Xia Ran.

Xia Ran’s wrist was already red. It looked

painful.

“I didn’t do it!” Xia Ran retorted loudly, clutching her wrist. “Why would I do that? I don’t even believe in that sort of scary stuff!”

“There’s only you and Auntie He in this house. Zhu Qian, could it be that Auntie He did it? She has no feud with Zhu Qian and can’t even read. Would she do such a thing? Who else could it be?!” Mu Hua questioned sternly.

Xia Ran was stunned for a moment. So in Mu Hua’s heart, she wasn’t even as trustworthy as Auntie He?
