Chapter 249: Chapter 249 Close Combat
Tang Qi, stepping out of the protective shield, immediately attracted all hostility.
The leader of this Hound Squad was not the “Black Hound” Robert, the strongest in combat, but Lance, the White Hound. Aside from its horrific strength, it was also exceedingly cunning, and this assassination attempt was orchestrated by it.
Had it not been for Tang Qi’s intervention, they would have nearly perfectly completed the mission given by their leader.
But now, everything was ruined.
All four “Blue Hounds,” including the one Tang Qi had pinned at the bottom of the pit, simultaneously entered their strongest combat state.
Their target, Tang Qi.
“Hiss~”
The first to start was the one under Tang Qi’s control. It suddenly emitted scalding steam from within. Then, its body deflated like a leaky balloon, growing even thinner, like a true ghost, brandishing a shimmering blue Death God Scythe.
Tang Qi could sense that the “thing” he was pressing down on became even more dangerous, exuding a sharp essence, as if it might dismember him at any moment.
“Hiss hiss hiss”
The other three hounds underwent the same transformation.
They exuded an icy aura, floating ghost-like, three resplendent blue glows suddenly slashed down, targeting Tang Qi’s neck, torso, and lower body.
Just as he was about to be cut to pieces, Tang Qi abruptly dispelled the “Guardian Spell,” and at the same moment, his body silently shifted into a mist, yet the punch already poised to strike smashed down in this instant, his entire arm bizarrely bulging.
Monster Power Technique!
Boom!
The savage force sent the already emaciated Blue Hound back into the ground. A wave of dust-laden air burst in all directions, and the three blue glows hesitated for a mere moment before slashing down again, but apart from slicing through a cloud of smoke, they felt no sensation of cutting through flesh.
At the bottom of the pit, the “Blue Hound” had completely turned into minced meat. It could no longer hold the Death God Scythe, but its body kept sprouting flesh buds, tightly packed together, seemingly ready to reassemble its body soon.
Until, with another “boom,” that fist came crashing down again.
Snap! Snap! Snap!
Dotted with blue blood and entrails, propelled by a massive force, they splattered out, leaving holes in the bodies of the three hounds. A towering figure slowly rose from the bottom of the pit. At his feet lay a pool of blue blood and entrails melded into the earth, and a broken scythe.
While walking out, Tang Qi glanced at his Skill Bar.
The progress of the Monster Power Technique had risen to sixty percent, in line with his expectations.
“Hmm, just a bit more. Once I’ve smashed a few more of you to death, it should be about right.”
“Hum”
Before he even finished speaking, Tang Qi instantly appeared before one of the Blue Hounds, throwing a simple punch without any fancy moves. At this moment, he looked more like a monster than the “Hounds,” his bulging arms dramatically arched, explosive force thundered onto the nearly skeletal body of the Blue Hound.
Crack!
Another body smashed into the ground. Tang Qi let it reassemble as he faced the onslaught of two more slashes of deadly blue light without dodging. His arms pierced through the veil of blades, directly grasping the two completely paralyzed heads.
“Crush!” Tang Qi roared, the solid skulls popping in his grip, the poison-laden brain pulp spattering alongside the fragments of skull. Tang Qi merely sneered, dragging the two hounds back and smashing them into the ground.
In the same spot, within the same pit, the bodies of three temporarily incapacitated “Blue Hounds” piled up, creating a scene that could trigger trypophobia–the sight of constantly sprouting, poison-steam-emitting flesh buds was hair-raising.
Yet Tang Qi only cast a cold glance, raising both arms, with their giant-like bulges, one punch after another, shadowy as a phantom, began to rain down relentlessly.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
“No!”
Tang Qi was smashing away with enthusiasm when a roar came through.
Following that, another monster– a bluish-black giant hound, Robert, akin to an elephant charging, made its appearance.
Because of the humiliation suffered from the Night Beast, in a fit of rage, it actually engaged in close combat with a Shadow Beast. Although the two were vastly different in strength, and the little guy was only in its juvenile stage, almost being completely overpowered by Robert in a mere struggle.
But its Shadow Magic, along with a speed that even surpassed Tang Qi, posed a fatal threat to Robert– unless the Black Hound could cheat using special abilities like Tang Qi did, or overwhelm the Night Beast’s Shadow Magic with witchcraft.
Thus, their fight fell into an extremely tedious stalemate, that is until Robert heard the noise and looked back to see that all but four of his subordinates had been wiped out. From having the upper hand to being nearly annihilated, the reversal happened in an incredibly short span, something Robert found utterly unacceptable.
And the one who caused it all was that very “violator” of a human.
Robert’s eyes were completely blood red. As he charged, his muscles continued to swell uncontrollably; his body grew larger, and a visible bluish-black poison gas erupted. Scales began to sprout on his body, covering it like armor.
His already ugly face began to mutate, with crisscrossing fangs breaking through the skin and a bright red tongue elongating… Correspondingly, the sanity in his eyes was completely vanishing, with the last image etched in his mind.
It was a figure, one he must kill– Tang Qi.
“Ultimate Combat Form!”
Amidst a splatter of blue blood and muck, Tang Qi rose excitedly to his feet, watching Robert who was charging at him.
Intense ghostly light surged in the depths of his eyes, a dangerous aura spreading throughout.
“Extraordinary Creature: It has forsaken its self, for the overwhelming Extraordinary Power granted by the Evil Flower Potion, mutating towards an unknown monster…”
“Perfect timing!”
“Boom boom boom”
Tang Qi’s fighting spirit boiled over. He nearly forgot all his witchcraft and other abilities, only the near ten Fighting Skills remained. He didn’t even bother to check their progress; with a “buzz,” he suddenly appeared right in front of Robert.
Boom!
The collision occurred–a large and a small fist clashed.
Amid the unbearably loud explosion, two figures–one stumbled back several steps while the other was shockingly blown away.
“Boom~Buzz”
A figure slammed into the Magic Shield raised by White Witch Zoe.
The tremendous recoil nearly instantly consumed another half of Zoe’s Magic Power, and as she looked up, seeing Tang Qi bouncing off the shield and then nonchalantly yet thrillingly charging at Robert again, her usually calm face almost broke as she felt the urge to abandon all poise and curse out loud.
Unlike Zoe, the dozen or so Transcendent agents were all staring in horror at the ongoing brawl.
Being the first from the Investigation Bureau to engage in battle with the Shepherd Sect, the investigators were fully aware of the Hound Corps’ various combat strengths, especially the “Black and White Level” Hounds’ fighting capabilities.
In their understanding, even a Professional Transcendent with strong lineage like Demon Hunter Odys would need external forces such as the “Head of Demon” or Family Battle Skills to engage in close combat with a Black Hound.
But now, someone else had done it.
Moreover, this “Night Wing Knight” had almost forsaken all external help, engaging in pure hand-to-hand combat with the Black Hound, just like Robert.
Although Tang Qi was repeatedly blown away, seemingly completely on the losing side.
But the keener agents could see that Tang Qi’s strength and skill were climbing at a terrifying speed.
