Chi Enen blinked and said playfully, “Persistent in trying to set up matchmaking dates for my Little Uncle! Every time it fails, she never gives up.” Now, this persistence seems to be directed at her.

His prominent nose bridge was far more dignified than any male celebrity’s, and combined with his sharp eyes, his eyelashes were curled and long, more delicate than a woman’s.

Yet, aside from his perfect features, his skin was also incredibly fair–not the frail kind of fair, but one that emanated nobility. His flawless skin showed no pores at all, further emphasizing his exceptional features.

With his eyes closed now, much of his sharp aura had softened.

But his resolute jawline still radiated elegance; even while asleep, he carried an air of slight arrogance.

Chi Enen thought about how he showed up in time tonight, about how he carried Xi Zelie to the hospital without hesitation, about how he treated her hand before tending to his own fever. Her heart felt full, suffused with warmth and strength.

When the IV finally finished, Chi Enen carefully moved the arm he had wrapped around her waist, pulled out the needle in his hand, and pressed on the spot to stop the bleeding.

Through it all, she tried to be as gentle as possible, so as not to disturb him.

When everything was done and his breathing remained steady, she let out a breath of relief and, exhausted both physically and mentally, closed her eyes as well.
