Outside the corridor.

Chi Enen supported the injured man, gritting her teeth as they walked out. Once they exited Old Master Li’s area, she gritted her teeth and asked, “Li Beijue, where is your room?”

It was her first time visiting his home. His house was so big she couldn’t find his living quarters. Now, with paths branching to both the left and right, she didn’t know which way to go.

“Turn left,” Li Beijue rasped, his voice hoarse.

Chi Enen immediately helped him turn left, quickly arriving at the staircase.

“Go up.”

Chi Enen looked at the staircase, hesitating. She asked worriedly, “Li Beijue, are you sure you’re okay?”

Going upstairs would undoubtedly strain the muscles on his back. She was concerned that the wounds on his back might tear open again. Although she couldn’t currently see the state of his injuries, the persistent bloody smell along the way haunted her, reminding her that his back must be in dire condition.

Just the thought of her barging in earlier and seeing those gruesome wounds on his back left her chest with an inexplicable sense of suffocation!

Thankfully, she’d chosen to act impulsively at that moment; otherwise, he would’ve faced that storm alone again, standing in front of her as a shield.

Though she hadn’t been able to do much, at the very least, she got him out!

“I’m fine.” Li Beijue’s forehead was drenched in cold sweat, but his expression was indifferent, as if he truly felt nothing.

Chi Enen didn’t believe for a second that he was fine!

She adjusted her pace to walk as slowly as possible, guiding him step by step until they ascended the stairs…

The Second Floor had only one room. Without needing him to say anything, Chi Enen directly helped him toward the room.

The room was secured through fingerprint and facial recognition, and with a small beep, it unlocked.

The spacious room was absurdly luxurious to the extreme, but Chi Enen had no mind to appreciate it right now. She held onto his arm and helped him inside.

Just as she reached the sofa, “Li Beijue, sit down and rest for a bit. I’ll go look for–”

She hadn’t finished saying “iodine” before her wrist was seized. In the next moment, she was pulled into a forceful embrace. He lowered his head, sealing her lips directly with his own!

The fiery kiss felt as if it wanted to incinerate her entirely, pulling her fragrant tongue into a fervent exchange, demanding proof!

When the kiss finally ended, his falcon-like eyes deepened entirely, his rage erupting as he pressed her shoulders and roared hoarsely, “Chi Enen, who told you to barge in just now?! Are you an idiot?! Do you even know where this is?! Next time, you’re forbidden from acting on your own accord!”

She didn’t understand who that old man was, yet she actually dared to intrude.

This time, the old man was in a peculiar mood and said nothing. What if, next time, he wasn’t in the same state?

Did she even have a clue what kind of consequences she could face?

“Also, who told you to reach out and grab that whip?” The fire in Li Beijue’s falcon-like eyes burned so fiercely it seemed it could suffocate her. His cooperation along the way appeared only to culminate in this moment of explosive anger.

He pulled over the hand Chi Enen had used to grab the whip, only to find it wasn’t as severely injured as he imagined. His iron-clad expression finally softened slightly.

Thankfully, she hadn’t been utterly stupid; she’d used her already-bandaged hand to grab. With the thick gauze protecting her palm, the injury didn’t look severe.

However, the scorch mark on her arm, left by the fire’s touch, was still glaringly obvious!

He was about to say more when Chi Enen firmly reached out and covered his thin lips, cutting him off before he could speak. She said urgently, “Yes, yes, yes, I was thoughtless. I should’ve listened to you and not barged in. Next time, I’ll definitely obey you.”

Her words might sound compliant, but her demeanor made it clear she was just brushing him off to silence him.

Chi Enen’s clear eyes scanned the enormous, ridiculously luxurious suite and she asked, “Li Beijue, where do you keep the iodine and the rest of the medical supplies?”
