Chapter 392: Chapter 328 Hanna Can Be Considered My Daughter_2
Looking at the time, Ash realized it was almost time to meet up with Hanna.
Now, he had to face matters from the Void Realm, reality, and the game simultaneously. Among these, the Void Realm could be temporarily set aside due to soul damage until the “Blazing Soul Evolution Special Drink” completely healed his soul. The journey of the game raids had just begun, and Ash was far from becoming a successful decision-making Commander. In reality, he still had to meet the demands of the lady Hanna, not knowing what task she might assign this time…
Ash felt as though he was prematurely stepping into a middle-aged working-class life: his romantic life was a mess because of his lover, his work was draining because of a younger superior, and he couldn’t even enjoy entertainment to the fullest.
However…
Did Hanna mention where to meet?
Ash opened the Gospel Book: “Where is Hanna?”
Gospel Book: “Your Majesty, as per the regulations, the Gospel cannot directly reveal an individual’s location. However, you may inquire about the location of an item associated with the target.”
Ash: “Where are Hanna’s clothes?”
Gospel Book: “(Consumes 1 Gospel Point) In the wardrobe in Room 2803 on the 28th floor… Your Majesty, you should inquire about an item personally used by the target.”
Ash: “Where is the underwear Hanna is currently wearing?”
Gospel Book: “(Consumes 1 Gospel Point) The target you inquired about doesn’t exist… Your Majesty, the Gospel has an immature suggestion. Could you inquire about a personal item that you have personally witnessed?”
Target doesn’t exist…?
Ash: “You really got me, I didn’t get any information, and you just duped me out of 2 points.”
Gospel Book: “I deeply apologize, Your Majesty, the Gospel Society will make improvements as soon as possible.”
Finally, Ash asked where Hanna’s amethyst earrings were, and the Gospel Book eventually provided the correct answer–they were in Suite No. 24 in the south area of the dining floor. The Gospel Book thoughtfully provided the nearest walking route.
Thus, Ash went down to the dining floor and was just about to head to Suite No. 24 when he saw Igula sneakily hide into the shadows of the corridor.
Thinking for a moment, Ash also hid and stood together with him.
Igula glanced at him, but didn’t speak.
Suddenly, the door to Suite No. 24 opened, and a maid came out.
Vatican Mura also had cleaning robots, but there were more personnel providing manual services, a stark contrast to the highly automated Azura.
The reason for the decreased number of service personnel was not only due to cheaper mechanical alternatives but also because no one wanted to work in the service industry–if chefs, hair management directors, and fitness coaches could somewhat realize their life’s value, then physically intensive jobs like serving dishes and clearing tables were purely for making a living.
Civilization’s progress is about liberating people from the bonds of survival to enjoy the value of life. Such professions, unable to realize the value of life, are destined to be phased out.
Maid roles like these in restaurants could entirely be replaced by ordering apps and delivery robots, which would also be more cost-effective. Yet, Senheiser still offered these positions to ordinary clan members, who willingly accepted such jobs.
Senheiser, responsible for arranging positions for clan members, and ordinary clan members, long-term inhalers of Beauty Mist and thus utterly satisfied with reality, losing ambition, collectively formed this advanced yet backward family ecosystem.
When the maid passed by, Igula suddenly pulled her into the room.
Ash watched, dumbfounded, and followed in to shut the door–Shouldn’t Swindlers like you use Mind Suggestions or eye hypnosis? Why resort to physical actions? If it comes to that, I could do it too!
However, Ash soon realized he couldn’t–the maid was initially somewhat panicked, but when she looked up and saw the Swindler’s face that could even Charm members of the Moon Shadow Clan, her cheeks turned red, and she lowered her head, saying, “Do you need something?”
Ash waved his hand in front of her, Why is it ‘you’ and not ‘you both’? What about me?
The maid was a human female, about twenty years old, with slightly pointed ears, possibly because one of her parents was an Elf. She was beautiful with a shapely figure.
Noticing how she ogled Igula with gluttonous eyes, Ash realized his misconception–he had been so impacted by the countless stares on the street earlier that he subconsciously didn’t regard Vatican Mura citizens as ordinary people but as neutral yellow-name mobs.
In reality, aside from being joyfully energetic every day, they were almost no different from ordinary people; they too lusted after attractive individuals and would curse when playing games poorly.
It was the divide between locals and outsiders that made it hard for Ash to see their normal side.
“Do you know who we are?”
The maid nodded, “The Clan Leader told us. You are Miss Hanna’s servants and guests of Senheiser.”
Igula said, “Actually, that’s not true. We aren’t guests of Senheiser, but members of the Senheiser clan.”
Both the maid and Ash were stunned, although Ash’s expressions were hidden under his black cloak and mask, hence unnoticed by the maid.
The maid shook her head, “Impossible, I can recognize any member of Senheiser.”
“We are undercover agents sent by the Clan Leader to infiltrate Hanna’s side, with the aim of stealing secrets from the Doran family,” Igula said. “But Hanna is very cunning; she would never trust someone from Senheiser. But the Clan Leader also doesn’t trust outsiders, so she arranged for us to undergo the Demon Extraction Ceremony, temporarily leaving the family and Vatican Mura, going through multiple disguises to finally gain Hanna’s trust.”
The maid was skeptical, “You are trusted by the Clan Leader? But I recall the Clan Leader doesn’t trust men much.”
Igula sighed, “You’re right, the Clan Leader indeed does not trust men, which is why I used to be the Clan Leader’s close confidante.”
Both the maid and Ash were shocked, the maid with a complex expression, “Could it be that you…”
“For the perennial accomplishments of Senheiser, such sacrifices are insignificant,” Igula brushed his hair behind his ear, revealing a pitifully endearing face of sorrow, “It’s just that it’s been a long time since anyone has cared for me…”
The emotions displayed by the Swindler were highly infectious, and the maid almost immediately believed him, turning to look at Ash, “And you are…?”
Ash glanced at Igula, who winked at him.
Though unsure of what Igula was up to, clearly Ash had to play along.
“I am also someone the Clan Leader can trust.”
“But the Clan Leader wouldn’t normally trust men,” the maid looked suspiciously, “Are you also one of the Clan Leader’s confidantes?”
Ash knew he couldn’t use Igula’s excuse–while Igula could get through on his excellent acting and proper appearance, Ash lacked the necessary skills or appearance, and he had to fabricate an identity that matched his own persona–
“Theoretically, right now, Hanna could be considered my daughter.”
