“What happened between us?” Lu Jue really wanted to find out what had happened.

“You think about it yourself.” Ning Zhi had no idea how to explain to him. It was too metaphysical. Besides, Overlord had warned her that she was not allowed to divulge anything about the system; otherwise, even her memories would be wiped.

Lu Jue looked at her quietly and continued to carry her to the Lu’s.

In shock, the two security guards standing by the door discovered that their Young Master Lu Jue was carrying a girl with him into the house.

The most surprising part was that the girl that he was carrying was the one who had been waiting outside the door.

The security guards were stunned. So, this girl really knew their Young Master Lu Jue? And judging from the way he looked like he was carrying some sort of treasure, the two were very close with each other.

The two security guards exchanged a look with each other. They wondered whether Young Master Lu Jue would be angry at them should he find out that they made the girl wait outside for hours.

Ning Zhi was familiar with the Lu’s home. With the banquet going on, all of the lights in the yard were lit, illuminating the usually dim surroundings.

Seeing the lights from afar and knowing that a banquet was taking place, Ning Zhi said quickly, “I don’t want to go to the banquet.”

“I am not taking you to the banquet. Doctor Jin is here today. I’ll have him check you out.”

In case of emergencies, the butler had Doctor Jin come over early today. One could never be too careful.

Ning Zhi couldn’t help but shove him. “Let me down. I can walk.”

Lu Jue had always tried to trick her, even when he was still ill. Now that he had recovered, he was even smarter and more stubborn than before. He continued to walk forward without heeding her request. “You are sick and couldn’t even walk straight earlier. It’s faster if I just carry you.”

To prove his point, Lu Jue picked up his pace and reminded her. “There are a lot of guests at the banquet. You better hold on to me tight, if you don’t want to be seen.”

Lu Jue had already carried her into the living room before Ning Zhi could say no. Ning Zhi was so mad that she wanted to bite him. She quickly buried her face in his chest.

It had only been a few seconds, and she could feel others looking at her.

Ning Zhi pressed her face tightly against Lu Jue’s chest, so all the others could see was the back of her head. She was just going to play dead.

Lu Jue had attracted everyone’s attention the second that he showed up in his bright red silk shirt. Much like the rumors, he was very outstanding. He was tall and handsome. Along with the coldness between his brows, his attraction was fatal.

The most shocking part was that he was carrying a girl in his arms!

Many upper-class wives and daughters learned that it was Madam Lu’s intention to find Young Master Lu Jue a girlfriend tonight. Now he had shown up with a girl in his arms?

Lu Jue was used to ignoring the looks of others. Holding tightly onto Ning Zhi in his arms, he walked forward. By the time he had reached the stairs, he said to the butler, who was waiting to one side, “Have Doctor Jin come to my room.”

“Yes, Young Master.”

Lu Jue walked upstairs with Ning Zhi in his arms.

All the others could see was the back of the girl’s head. Her black and shiny hair draped down over Lu Jue’s arm, and her two fair and delicate legs peeked out from under the dress.

The guests couldn’t help but launch into an enthusiastic discussion of who the girl was and which family she was from.

Standing to one side, Mother Lin and Lin Tiantian were so stunned that they had almost forgotten their manners.

Lin Tiantian was the first to recollect herself. The others couldn’t tell, but she could tell that it was Ning Zhi that Lu Jue was carrying with just one look.

It was the same light-blue dress that Ning Zhi had on this morning, and she must admit that only Ning Zhi had skin as fair and delicate as what she was looking at right now.

Lin Tiantian almost crushed her teeth from anger. “Mom, that shameless Ning Zhi had really seduced Young Master Lu Jue!”
