Seeing that the girl had stood up abruptly, Lu Jue asked, “What is it?”

“It’s getting late. I should head home.”

Lu Jue frowned unconsciously. He felt the urge to ask her to stay. For some inexplicable reason, he felt that she should stay at the Lu’s and be with him!

He pulled himself together, feeling like he had lost his mind. He had just met her today. Why would he think that?

“I’ll have someone bring some food up. You haven’t had dinner yet. I’ll take you home after you’ve eaten.” Seeing that she was about to decline his offer, Lu Jue added, “The banquet is not over yet. You sure you want the guests to see you walking out of my room?”

Ning Zhi had always been the one doing the bullying in the past. Now, going head-to-head with Lu Jue, she was the one being bullied!

Lu Jue had a servant bring up some light food and congee. Ning Zhi was ill right now and should not have greasy food.

Lu Jue sat next to Ning Zhi and quietly watched her eat.

Under the light, Ning Zhi’s little lips were red and her cheeks puffy. Lu Jue felt a warmth in his heart, feeling content. At the same time, however, he felt like a little claw was scratching at his chest, urging him to fulfill a desire he doesn’t know how to describe. Dazed, he suddenly blurted out, “Have I kissed you before?”

How else would he know how nice her lips taste?

Ning Zhi’s breathing halted when she heard Lu Jue’s question. She felt that her cheeks were burning hotter.

Controlling her heartbeat, she gave Lu Jue a stare but did not answer his question. “I’m done eating.”

Lu Jue’s eyes dimmed a little. He slowly looked away from her lips and said, “I’ll take you home.”

Lu Jue still liked the color red a lot. Even redder than before, in fact. Red like blood. It made him look fairer and also gave his handsome face a more seductive look.

Standing up, Lu Jue’s tall body and cold temperament would give others a sense of pressure.

Ning Zhi did not turn him down.

The banquet was still going on, and the guests were chatting away happily.

Lu Jue took Ning Zhi with him to take the elevator down in order to avoid the crowd. Nevertheless, the two of them were too good-looking and still attracted a lot of attention.

The guests saw the girl walking next to Lu Jue. She was in a light-blue dress, and her skin was fair. Just a glance at her stunned many others.

Lu Jue already had someone have the car ready for them.

Walking into the garden, Lu Jue reflexively wanted to hold Ning Zhi’s hand. He felt that he had done that a million times before.

Lu Jue’s desire startled even himself, and he clenched his fists, barely restraining himself from acting on his desires.

It was very quiet inside the car.

Ning Zhi and Lu Jue sat in the back of the car, each sitting on either side.

Ning Zhi was still running a fever and feeling dizzy after taking the medications. All she wanted was to get some rest.

Lu Jue remained very quiet next to her.

Lu Jue got out of the car after Ning Zhi once they had arrived at the Lin’s.

“Don’t forget to take your medications and get some rest,” said Lu Jue.

Ning Zhi looked over at him. She was unfamiliar with this Lu Jue. Lu Jue, who had recovered, now knew to care about others.

Ning Zhi acknowledged what he said, turned, and walked inside the Lin’s.

The girl’s skinny body disappeared inside the house. Under the moonlight, Lu Jue reflexively clutched his hand over his heart.

His heart was throbbing madly, and the odd sensation was about to overtake him.

Inside the house.

Neither Lin Tiantian nor Mother Lin was home.

Ning Zhi returned to her room. She planned to take off from the Lin’s tomorrow as soon as she got her little jade stamp.

Ning Zhi laid down in bed and summoned Overlord. “You told me that Lu Jue’s memories had been wiped. As such, why was it that he still has feelings for me? He also knew that my name is Zhizhi.”

Overlord: [I am not too familiar with human emotions, Host.]

Ning Zhi wanted to give Overlord a good beating.

She took a deep breath and asked,  “Would it be possible to give Lu Jue his memories back?”

Overlord: [You have already asked that before, Host.]

“I know.” Of course, Ning Zhi knew that she had asked that multiple times before. But she didn’t want to give up. She was greedy. She wanted both the Lu Jue with his past memory and the Lu Jue who had recovered.

Only the healthy Lu Jue with his past memory was the complete Lu Jue.

Overlord wanted to play dumb.
