Chapter 386 – “May I please have the Ning’s little princess?” (3)

Lu Jue chuckled at Ning Zhi. His lips curved and his little dimples could be seen on his cheeks. He lowered his head, kissed Ning Zhi, and wooed her. “Be a good girl, Zhizhi. We can’t just yet.”

Ning Zhi blinked and look at Lu Jue in surprise. “Are you not a man?”

Lu Jue loved intimacy in the past. And he also liked to cling onto her

Now Lu Jue was declining her after she had taken the initiative?

Lu Jue pulled the blanket over and placed it on top of Ning Zhi.

“I am a man, but this is not the time.” Lu Jue adjusted the blanket over her.

Ning Zhi, “……”

The scene felt very familiar. She had pulled the blanket over Lu Jue before in the exact same way.

Ning Zhi was unhappy. She sat up and the blanket fell off her. She wanted to throw a fit but, the very next second, her ankle was grabbed by Lu Jue.

His tall and large body half kneeled in front of her and he removed her shoes for her gently.

His slender fingers agilely undid the buckle on her shoes and he loosened the straps that wrapped over the top of her foot.

Ning Zhi’s frustration was quelled instantly. She looked at Lu Jue who was holding her feet with his head lowered and she felt her heart softened. “If now is not the time, when will be the right time?”

To Ning Zhi, she had already been with Lu Jue many times in the past and it was not unfamiliar to her. To Lu Jue, however, he had no experience at all and did not wish to engage in such a casual manner. “After we are married, Zhizhi.”

Ning Zhi’s eyes widened and she couldn’t help but reached out and pinched him on his cheek. “This is the first time I’ve learned that you are such a conservative person.” She harrumphed and said in discontent, “Besides, how are you so sure that I will marry you?”

Lu Jue took her shoes off, lowered his head, and kissed her on the top of her foot. His tone was very affirmative, “Zhizhi will marry no one but me.”

Ning Zhi blushed and wanted to pull her foot back. “Says who?”

Lu Jue curved his lips and said nothing.

He had a strong feeling that his wife could only be Ning Zhi.

When Ning Zhi woke up the next morning, Lu Jue was also gone.

She had fallen asleep the night before shortly after he had wooed her. She had no idea when or how did he leave.

When Ning Zhi went downstairs, Old Mr. Ning was already having his tea in the living room.

“Good morning, Grandpa.”

“You are up? Breakfast is ready. Let’s head over.” Old Mr. Ning was in good spirit today.

Ning Zhi walked over to him, held him, and walked over to the dining area to dine with her grandfather.

After dinner, Ning Zhi heard the butler announcing to Old Mr. Ning, “Master, the Young Master from the Lu family is here to pay you a visit.”

“The Lu family?” Old Mr. Ning nodded. “Sure, bring him in.”

Ning Zhi was very surprised to hear that Lu Jue was here.

She had avoided her family members and snuck him into her room the night before and he decided to come straight through the front door the next morning?

Lu Jue came inside quickly. He had already changed into a new outfit. His suit was very wrinkled from Lu Jue being on top of him the night before and he immediately returned to the hotel and changed after he had left the Ning’s.

“Hi, Grandpa Ning, I am Lu Jue.”

Old Mr. Ning recognized him as the young man who was following his granddaughter around from the banquet. He eyed Lu Jue sternly. “You are the son of Lu Dongzhou?”

Lu Jue answered respectfully, “That’s correct, Grandpa Ning.”

“You can just call me Old Mr. Ning.” Old Mr. Ning did not want the boy to suggest their relationship as closer than it really was. He did notice that Lu Jue had immediately glanced over in Ning Zhi’s directly the second that he walked inside.

He had the audacity to eye the pearl of the Ning family.
