Chapter 610: Chapter 384: Code Name 1275 (Third Update)

Blue Capital Star’s J District, a satellite city belonging to Zhongjing City, also attracted a considerable number of residents.

Because it serves as a transit hub for trade between Zhongjing City and several major cities.

In J District, there are over 70 intercity rail vehicles bound for the city center every day.

Specialties and goods from all over the planet converge here, get transferred, and then sent to the main city, laid out on pretty shelves for people to choose.

Benefiting from its unique geographical position, this place seems extraordinarily bustling and lively, so it became a melting pot of all sorts of characters.

The satellite city isn’t constrained by as many rules and regulations as the main city, nor are there idle police who would specially watch over this grey area intertwined with various grey industries.

Therefore, a number of commerce chambers, logistics companies, and mercenary organizations have chosen J District as their base.

This is a method devised by the Blue Capital Star’s government to centralize the management of these scattered groups – this place is essentially an area of autonomy specially sanctioned by the government.

Unexpectedly, since its establishment over a decade ago, the security in the Zhongjing City district has improved significantly.

However, if there’s a downside, it’s the poor security in J District, and the environmental sanitation here is incredibly bad.

In recent years, the government has been intending to plan J District as a separate entity, but due to resistance on multiple fronts, it ultimately fell through.

Compared to the main urban districts, there isn’t strict air control and no-fly orders here, so the large and small spacecraft casually landing and taking off seem very arbitrary.

From a distance, one might even mistake it for a bustling Space Port.

A light yellow-painted small private spacecraft whizzed by overhead.

From the outside, the paint of the spacecraft was incredibly shabby, seeming like it hadn’t been cared for in over a decade, with some lettering symbols already somewhat blurred.

But such spacecraft are commonplace in J District – all are either racing against time or against life; as long as the spacecraft can fly, what use is its appearance?

So this small spacecraft was unremarkable.

Within the spacecraft, a burly figure shrouded in a black cloak sat quietly in the captain’s seat, and in front of him, a row of people knelt on one knee.

“Sir, we’ve ascertained that the assassin union’s base is inside the underground market, the Sparrow Bar.”

“Very well, hand all the information to me, and just drop me off at the entrance of the black market in a moment,” the authority in that voice made those kneeling people bow their heads even lower.

“Yes, Sir.”

Andumari waved his hand, signaling for those people to leave.

In the end, only he was left in the command room.

The large figure sunk into the soft sofa, and a mocking murmur arose, “You wouldn’t tell, so I came. I want to see just what progress the assassin association has made over these years. An organization that feeds on people’s heads, yet strives to claim a clear line from the dark powers.”

“What a joke! An enormous joke.”

“Solomon needs to establish authority, and this is only the first step…”

The tone gradually decreased and finally faded almost into silence.

The spacecraft flew rapidly and finally landed on the edge of a vast underground plaza entrance.

Four or five brawny men with formidable auras stepped out of the spacecraft and quickly took position.

Then, a moment later, a towering figure, two meters tall, appeared, with a black cloak enveloping the giant’s entire body.

The robust voice sounded, “You can go back, I’ll return in ten minutes.”

“Yes, Sir!”

…

The underground black market is a spot of great significance in J District.

It is beloved by mercenaries and warriors alike, and merchants equally enjoy gathering valuable intelligence from here.

In the underground black market, the only law is the fist; the rules are where the person with the biggest fists is.

The negative second floor of the underground black market was filled with colorful lights, with neon-signs of all shapes and sizes informing people of their purpose in a primitive fashion.

Among them, building number 44 on level negative two is a bar that is quite famous here–

The Sparrow Bar.

Though the name might be a bit uninspiring, the chicks inside were hot, the drinks authentic and tasty, and the information accurate–the owner had a powerful backer.

Sparrow Bar was surprisingly busy, with countless people reveling inside every day.

At that moment, a deafening sound rang out. A young waiter dressed in a small suit was busy mixing drinks behind the bar when a huge shadow caught his eye.

The young waiter hurriedly looked up to see a formidable figure before him. Although he couldn’t make out the face, beneath the cloak was a burly body that seemed to emanate an incredibly dangerous aura.

This situation was a bit surprising for a waiter who had almost become immune to muscular men.

The young waiter flashed a brilliant smile:

“Good evening, sir, what would you like to drink?”

“April Flower, Gardenia Wine–in a porcelain cup. The volume… 1275.”

The waiter’s eyelids flickered slightly, eyeing the massive shadow before him, wondering if there had been any assassins of this size around in the last three months.

But the code was unmistakably correct; this seemed to be an unaffiliated freelance assassin who had come to turn in a completed bounty.

Codename 1275.

Such a high-numbered assassin probably wandered in from another city.

But then again, if he was already wandering, he was definitely not any significant figure.

The waiter ducked his head to prepare a cup of Gardenia Wine, handed it to the towering shadow, and then began tapping the ground beneath his feet at a strange rhythm.

Moments later, the waiter signaled a coworker with a look, indicating it was time to switch jobs, and he stepped out from behind the bar.

He whispered to the cloaked figure, “Follow me.”

The massive figure cloaked in a cape hummed in acknowledgment, indicating he understood.

Parting the bustling crowd, the waiter led the way, and two strong security guards at the door stepped aside to clear a path.

A secret door had already swung open in a secluded area.

Only the quiet footsteps of the two were heard as they entered the secret door, one after the other.

At last, when the large shadow vanished, no one saw a cold smirk hanging on his lips.

The secret door closed.

A thick and chilly corridor unraveled, the large shadow almost completely filling it.

After walking for a few seconds and turning a right angle, the view ahead brightened.

The waiter stopped in his tracks, and his voice lost its previous softness, becoming very flat, “Assassin number 1275, you’re on your own from here, my part is done.”

“Not yet.”

The massive shadow shook his head, took a cylindrical device from his chest, and gently pressed it against the wall.

With a click, it stuck to the wall successfully.

A red light came on, turning green after just a second.

A dangerous glint appeared in the waiter’s eye, a chill in his voice, “1275, do you realize where you are, who gave you the audacity?” His fingers had already stealthily crept to the seam of his trousers.

Who gave you the audacity to plant a signal jammer at the headquarters of the assassin union?

“Who? Of course, myself. I’ve come looking for your boss.”

“You’re not 1275!?” The young man jerked his head up, a spinning dagger suddenly in hand, slashing swiftly forward.

“Assassin number 37, known as Little Dagger Wielder, disguised as a waiter at Sparrow Bar. Tsk, such a waste of talent.”

A cold laugh emanated from beneath the massive shadow, his right hand rising sharply, a burst of sparks shooting from his palm.

The sharp edge of the dagger didn’t penetrate at all.

Behind the palm and beneath the cloak, there lay a cold mask.

On the mask, a cruel yellow gaze flashed by.
