Chapter 21: Thank you!

Ye Mu took out the tie from the shopping bag. With a slightly embarrassed look on her face, she said, “I think it matches well with your clothes. I’m just not sure if you would like it.”

With that, she bit her lips in unease.

Mo Shen looked at what she was holding and a smile crept up his thin lips. The smile at the corner of his mouth became more obvious, and there was an indescribable warmth spreading in his heart.

Ye Mu looked at the tie, and then at the suit that Mo Shen was wearing. Noticing that Mo Shen hadn’t said anything for a while. She thought that he didn’t like her gift as she mumbled to herself, “Looking at it like this, it doesn’t seem to fit?”

Just as she was about to put down the tie, Mo Shen wrapped her big hand around hers and said slowly, “I like it very much.”

Hearing his words, Ye Mu slowly raised her head. The smile on her face became a little more natural, “Young Uncle, would you like to give it a try?”

Mo Shen lifted his slender fingers and pulled on his tie lightly. His smooth movements were charming, and Ye Mu could not help but blush.

Mo Shen wore the tie that she bought for him around his neck, but he suddenly stopped what he was doing before turning to look at Ye Mu, “Tie it for me.”

Ye Mu’s eyes were in a daze, and she bit her red lips, feeling a little embarrassed, “But I don’t know how to…”

Looking at the adolescent-like look on her face, Mo Shen raised her hand and held her slender fingers with his hands, teaching her step-by-step, “I’ll teach you.”

Ye Mu raised her head halfway and looked at Mo Shen’s hand.

They were standing too close.

Ye Mu liked the refreshing smell on his body, and she stared at his hand very seriously.

“Do you know how to do it now?” Mo Shen asked her again after tying the tie.

She nodded, “Yes.”

Mo Shen nodded, his slender fingers untied the tie again and gestured for her to come closer to him, “You do it again.”

Ye Mu placed both of her hands on Mo Shen’s neck as she tried to tie the necktie according to Mo Shen’s teachings earlier. She was still struggling for it took her a few minutes before she managed to tie it around his neck. However, the tie got stuck and she tried to force it by pushing it upwards with a little more force.

“Ahem…” Mo Shen’s neck was immediately constricted and he couldn’t help but cough softly.

Ye Mu was quick to release her hold of the tie as she looked at him in concern and said apologetically, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry… did I accidentally strangle you?”

Mo Shen raised his hand to stop her, “I’m fine.”

Mo Shen had never thought even in his wildest dreams that he could be strangled by his own tie one day.

Even though Mo Shen said that he was all right, Ye Mu still went forward and helped Mo Shen loosen his tie. She took it seriously to the point that she seemed to have forgotten that her coat was unbuttoned and that she was wearing a low-cut woolen shirt.

Mo Shen unintentionally lowered her head and his eyes instantly saw her sexy figure hidden behind her coat. His eyes turned a little fiery as he quickly moved his gaze away. The Adam’s apple on his neck throbbed involuntarily.

“Uncle, what’s the matter with you?” Ye Mu saw Mo Shen’s slightly reddened complexion, so she couldn’t help but ask in confusion.

Mo Shen covered his fist with his hand and coughed slightly, covering his thin lips, “Nothing.”

Despite looking innocent and harmless, Ye Mu was an attractive woman for Mo Shen. The self-control that he had incessantly honed all this time had actually trembled to its foundations in front of Ye Mu.

Ye Mu had a schedule for tonight, so to prepare for it, she took an afternoon nap. Upon waking up, she discovered that Mo Shen was still in the living room.

“Young Uncle, don’t you have work today?” Ye Mu asked as she yawned while walking down the stairs.

Mo Shen looked at his watch and calmly asked, “I’m about to go now. Do you need a ride?”

“Sure.” Ye Mu smiled lightly, revealing a beautiful smile.

Inside the car, Ye Mu informed Ji An through a text message that she would head over directly to the discussed location. After receiving Ji An’s reply, Ye Mu was finally able to take a deep breath of relief

With her mobile phone in hand, she lifted her head and looked at Mo Shen who was driving seriously. Her gaze moved from Mo Shen’s slender hands that were holding the steering wheel, to his handsome and perfectly chiseled face as if they were carved out by a knife.

She couldn’t help but let out a sigh.

Who had ever thought that a man who was being so serious in his work could be so handsome?

Mo Shen was focused on his driving, yet he could feel Ye Mu’s gaze from behind. His distinct lips rose slightly, and the car became filled with his refreshing and gentle voice, “It seems that our boss lady likes to stare at her husband so much?”

Ye Mu’s heart skipped a beat and she couldn’t help but pout her red lips.

When the car arrived at her destination, Ye Mu got out of the car and waved goodbye to Mo Shen, “I’m going in, see you later tonight.”

“See you tonight.” Mo Shen sat in the car and returned her gesture with a wave of his own.

Ye Mu nodded and briskly walked towards the lobby. But after only taking two steps, she stopped in her tracks and turned around. Looking at Mo Shen with this serious expression on her face, she uttered, “Young Uncle…”

Mo Shen’s car moved slightly. He sat in his car and watched as if he was waiting for her to return to the vehicle. But when he heard her words, his brows raised slightly, “Is there anything wrong with my little wife?”

Ye Mu’s fair and flawless face suddenly burst into a smile hearing him call her his, ‘little wife’.

His words were still as gentle as ever as it bloomed like a lily, spreading its fragrance everywhere when the wind blew. Smiling sweetly, she replied, “Thank you.”

She was thankful for his presence when she was at her lowest.

She was thankful that he wasn’t questioning her past.

She was thankful that he wasn’t forcing her into anything.

Leaving these words, Ye Mu walked away as if she was fleeing without even waiting for Mo Shen’s answer. Perhaps, this might be the only time that she could have such courage to say these words in her entire life.

Mo Shen’s hands on the steering wheel trembled ever so slightly. Her grateful words sent him to a daze. When he recovered from his trace, a hint of joy could be seen within his pair of deep eyes.

Upon entering the building, Ye Mu had never expected to see Ye Qiyi again in just under a day.

Ji An led Ye Mu into the dressing room as she handed her over to the make-up artist, “Tina, this is the newly-signed artist of our New Earth Media. I’m handing her over to you.”

“Okay. Thank you, Sister Ji, for giving me the honor.” The make-up artist stared gratefully at Ji An. Everyone in this industry knew that artists from New Earth Media were incredibly hard to get in touch with.

In the eyes of those in the industry, even if the artist was a newcomer, so long as they were signed with New Earth, their levels were far higher than those celebrities of the third or fourth tier.

Not long after Ye Mu sat on her chair, Ye Qiyi entered the dressing room. She was naturally surprised to see Ye Mu in the room, but she was quick to hide it behind a façade and simply greeted Ye Mu with a nod of her head.

Ji An had gone outside to catch a phone call. The makeup artist also left the dressing room once she was done with Ye Mu’s makeup, leaving Ye Mu alone with Ye Qiyi.

Sitting on her seat, Ye Qiyi looked at Ye Mu through the reflection in the mirror. Her smile disappeared and she was no longer her usual gentle self. Her face looked cold, “Don’t take on this commercial.”

Ye Mu who had been staring down at her phone lifted her head slightly when she heard Ye Qiyi’s words. Then, she asked in confusion, “And why?”

Ye Qiyi could no longer pretend anymore.

“Ye Mu, what on earth are you trying to do?” She turned her head around and pressed her hand on the armrest of the seat and looked at Ye Mu who was still looking back at her with clear confusion on her fair complexion.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Ye Mu stared at her indifferently.

Ye Qiyi sneered.

Her beautiful face turned slightly hideous, “Still pretending? When I entered the industry, you also did. I am here to shoot a magazine ad, and you’re also here… Ye Mu, you have to get that delusion out of your head that just because you’re doing what I am doing—Gu Yiming will return to your side?”
