Claire was speechless.

Just as Claire placed her hand on the door handle, Asher spoke, “You can get down now, but just remember one thing–since you graduated, come to the company for your internship.”

“Yes.”

“That’s good. Get down the car, then.”

Claire gave him a bright smile, turned her head, and got down immediately. She then slammed the car door behind her.

Her fate would always be in Asher’s hands, and she would never be able to change that.

Even after four years, he remained the same and seemed to be even worse than before. He easily decided her future with just a few words.

Claire suddenly understood the reason he enrolled her in the finance unit. It was probably for today–to make her work in Kens Corporation.

Claire turned back to look, but the car window was already up and it blocked her view. She could no longer see Asher.

When Mr. Jones saw her get down the car, he quickly came over. “Madam, please report yourself to the human resource department tomorrow at nine in the morning. I’ll be waiting there for you and I’ll help you settle in..”
