“This is Doctor Feng from our Rejuvenating Hall. He has been practicing medicine for decades and is highly skilled,” the apprentice introduced. He then turned to the elderly man. “Doctor Feng, these are the ones requesting a consultation.”

The old man stroked his beard and looked at the children standing before him, then glanced at the guards behind them. He asked, “Who needs the consultation? Come forward and show your hand.”

Before Hao’er could speak, Muchen stepped forward and sat on the stool. “I do.” He placed his hand on the cushion before him.

Doctor Feng extended his hand to check Muchen’s pulse while his other hand continued to stroke his beard. After a moment, he withdrew his hand and studied Muchen’s face carefully before speaking. “You’re not ill. Your health is excellent. You’ve simply been restless these past couple of nights, which has disturbed your sleep. I’ll prescribe some calming medicine, and you’ll feel better soon.”

Muchen, relieved, hadn’t expected such a simple diagnosis. His mind had been restless lately, which caused the discomfort in his chest. He pursed his lips, glancing up at Hao’er.

Noticing this, Hao’er spoke up. “My brother’s heart beats very fast sometimes. He feels panicked and uneasy. Are you sure there’s no other issue?”

Doctor Feng’s face darkened at the question. “Restlessness is all. There’s no other problem. His health is fine. If you take him to other doctors, they’d likely tell you the same.”

He stroked his mustache and looked at Hao’er sternly. “Such a minor symptom, I won’t make a mistake in diagnosing it.”

Hao’er, unconvinced, turned to Yue’er. “Come here.”

Muchen stepped aside as Yue’er went forward and sat on the stool. She blinked up at the elderly man with a hint of fear in her eyes. Her soft voice trembled as she spoke, “Grandfather, I can’t sleep well lately. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, and my heart races very fast. When it happens, I get scared. Grandfather, do I have a serious illness? Will I die?”

The little girl’s voice, filled with fear and vulnerability, was so endearing that Doctor Feng couldn’t help but think of his own granddaughter. His stern expression softened.

He smiled gently and said, “Don’t worry, little one. You’re not sick. Your body is fine. Like your brother, you’ve just been feeling restless. It’s nothing serious. A bit of calming medicine should do the trick.”

“Thank you, Grandfather~” Yue’er said sweetly, her eyes brightening with relief.

Hao’er thought for a moment before asking, “Could you prescribe something to help calm their minds, please?”

Doctor Feng glanced at him and quickly wrote out a prescription. Seventeen, who had been waiting nearby, stepped forward to take it and went to the front to gather the medicine.

Hao’er then asked Doctor Feng a few more questions about any precautions to take. After receiving the answers, he thanked the doctor and turned to lead his younger siblings toward Seventeen, when a loud, angry voice broke through the calm atmosphere of the hall.

“Idiot! Can’t you watch where you’re going?!”

The harsh words, accompanied by a scolding tone, echoed clearly in the still air of the Rejuvenating Hall.

Hao’er and the others immediately tensed. The voice belonged to a man, and judging by the tone, someone was angrily reprimanding Seventeen, who had gone to collect the medicine and settle the bill.

As they approached, they saw that one side of Seventeen’s face was slightly swollen. Hao’er’s expression darkened, and a dangerous glint flashed in his eyes.
