Chapter 7: The Arrogant Man Is Blind to the Law

Before the Director and Ming Ze could react, Jiang Chen had already stood up from behind them. He quickly walked over, grabbed Su Zhi’en, attempting to leave, and slammed her against the door.

At that moment, Su Zhi’en felt as though Jiang Chen had broken her back. Medicine wasn’t the only thing she should’ve studied for the past five years. She should have learned basic martial arts as well. If so, she could have beat the b*stard to his death right now.

Even as death was approaching, Su Zhi’en’s face remained indifferent. It looked as though she was not the one who was about to be strangled to death. She looked at Jiang Chen as though she had no ties with him, and like he was a stranger, cold and even disdainful. Seeing her react this way, the furious Jiang Chen was utterly stunned. 

‘She shouldn’t be reacting this way.’

“If you’re going to strangle me to death… then so be it… I advise you to get this over with quickly… I have already died once… D-Do you think I’m afraid of dying a second time? Let me tell you. If you don’t kill me today, sooner or later, I will be the one killing you!”

Jiang Chen felt that this woman was purposefully infuriating him to death. She was constantly challenging him. In an instant, Jiang Chen’s grip became even tighter. He couldn’t control his rage and anger.

“Director Jiang! Please let go. If you continue to strangle her, the doctor will die!” Seeing this, Ming Ze had no choice but to stop him. Jiang Chen had undoubtedly lost his mind. Ming Ze felt as though he had used all of his strength to get Jiang Chen to release Su Zhi’en.

Su Zhi’en survived and was rescued by the assistant. She sat down on the ground, clutching her neck as she coughed and tried to catch her breath. 

‘This b*stard’s temper has gotten worse. What an animal!’ 

It took a while before Su Zhi’en was able to calm down.

“I can’t strangle you to death just yet. It would seem that you didn’t die five years ago. What about the two children? They didn’t die either, right? Where did you take them? What right do you have to raise my children secretly?

“Don’t even think about walking out of here alive.” Jiang Chen tried his best to suppress his anger. He asked calmly, but every word he spoke was as cold as ice. The murderous rage in his heart did not dissipate at all.

When Jiang Chen thought about how he had been the cause of three lives back then, he blamed himself and regretted it. Later on, he treated his only surviving son very well. Jiang Chen tried his best to make things right with his son. He also didn’t tell anyone about his marriage to the other woman.

“You could have chosen not to marry me and refuse to show up at the wedding! It’s all because you didn’t have the guts to fight against your family. You’re using your incompetence to shift the blame onto me.

“That’s all you can do. Do you think you’re innocent? Why are you taking your hatred out on me? I wasn’t the cause of this! Is marriage between families something that I alone can decide? You’re not entirely innocent.

“Your thirst for love and freedom on that day almost caused me and my children to die on the operating table. I have never pretended to be entirely innocent, so why don’t I deserve to live?”

“You…” At this moment, Jiang Chen was so shocked that he couldn’t utter a single word in retaliation.

Su Zhi’en’s expression changed when she heard this. “What right do you have?! I’m a citizen of Country R. This is a violation of diplomatic law!” Jiang Chen sneered and retorted, “I’ll tell you what rights I have. It’s because I’m here. I am the law!”
