Chapter 429: Chapter 429: Call……Husband (5) Chapter 429: Chapter 429: Call……Husband (5) “Gu Annan!” Lu Wanwan hastily cried out to stop him, unsure of what he might say.
“…I’m getting up.” Gu Annan wasn’t stopped by her shouting; instead, he completed the sentence at a steady, unhurried pace, “Or should I say, I just woke up and felt like finding some presence.”
“I’m just a little…”
A little hot.
It was really just a bit hot, and when she reached that word, she stopped.
“Actually, I was about to get up,” she said in a quiet voice.
Her back and legs ached, and in truth, she didn’t want to get out of bed so early.
Seeing Gu Annan suddenly sit down at the edge of the bed, she glared at him warily, “Aren’t you going to the company?”
In recent times, for some reason, he had been extremely self-controlled.
Probably because during those days, she was so depressed due to the passing of her grandmother that he treated her like a delicate porcelain doll, and it was actually she who clung too tightly to him.
Just yesterday, for some reason, the beastly sickness had acted up again.
After starting with that term ‘husband’, the sudden tenderness made her naively think she had found an effective method.
But then…
Afterward, the more she called out, the tighter he held her, becoming even more insatiable.
Now she was genuinely a little scared; this man seemed to have no limits to his stamina.
He said he needed to go to the company, but who knew if he would suddenly decide not to go.
It was just like those first few days after her grandmother died; even when he received phone calls, seeing her clutch his arm as if it were a life-saving log, he didn’t leave her side for a second.
“Then you get up.” Gu Annan didn’t move an inch, continuing to sit by the bed, propping himself up with one hand on the mattress, watching her.
“…” Lu Wanwan gritted her teeth, feeling quite a desire to rage.
“Gu Annan, don’t bully people!”
“Can’t remember after three days.” He glanced at her, his eyes harboring an unfathomable, serene light.
After last night, it would be strange if she dared to utter those two words again!
“Yesterday, Lu Jingtian called looking for you when you weren’t there; he asked me to tell you to visit today,” she said, her facial expression changing as he suddenly spoke with some seriousness.
But why didn’t he tell her yesterday?
Had she not woken up on her own, was he planning not to tell her, or had he simply forgotten?
“Okay,” Lu Wanwan acknowledged vaguely with a nod.
“Why are you suddenly going to see him?”
For some reason, his gaze felt particularly oppressive.
Lu Wanwan furrowed her brows for a moment, diverting her gaze, “There’s something, I want… I want to join Jin’an.”
“He didn’t agree?”
“You should go to the company. I’ll be on my way soon,” she said, her gaze darting around, unsure of how to answer this question.
If she didn’t mention marriage, she felt like she was deceiving him.
And if she did, how would he view her reasons for getting married?
She knew Gu Annan wouldn’t be happy to hear it.
“Alright,” he didn’t press further, “I talked to Zhao Chen about the thing you mentioned yesterday. If you have any questions, just ask him.”
“I understand,” she nodded, raising her eyes to look at him still watching her, “Aren’t you leaving yet?”
Gu Annan looked at her for a moment, “Do you remember who it was that kept clinging to my arm and wouldn’t let go in the mornings a few days ago?”
“I remember,” Lu Wanwan candidly said, extending her arms out of the blanket and clasping her hands together, “I won’t dare to do it again next time.”
He glanced at her coldly and stood up.
Being depended upon by her was a good thing, but he didn’t wish for it to be in such a pathological way and through sad circumstances.
“Come back early after you’re done with your errands. Don’t stay out too long,” he added before leaving, remembering something else.
