Lu Wanwan was restless in the bedroom; though she could not justify his anger, she knew she had to be gentle during such times.

Today, having heard him say he was standing up for her, she felt that both emotionally and logically, she should coax him.

But just thinking about his indifferent face gave her the feeling of being rejected at any moment.

While Gu Annan was showering, she picked out a nightgown she would never normally wear.

The semi-transparent white gauze with lace only reaching the top of her thighs, she had thought she would keep this gown stored away forever.

Waiting by the bathroom door, as the sound of the water stopped, the heat on her face became even more apparent.

“Lu Wanwan!” His voice indeed came from within, unpredictable in tone, “Where’s the towel?”

She opened the bathroom door, holding a clean towel, and walked in calmly.

He was still reclining in the bathtub, under the light, his already extraordinary facial features appeared more three-dimensional. His deep eyes looked at her, as if overlaid with an enchanting haze, darkly alluring.

“I had gotten several towels wet earlier and forgot to put a new one inside,” she said, though her face showed no sign of regret or apology, “I remembered only after you were already in there.”

The other side of the bathtub fell silent; she could almost hear his clearly audible breathing quickening.

Gu Annan half-lay in the water, watching her steadily.

Her expression was natural, but her finely white legs were tightly closed due to unease, drawing his gaze darker.

The outline of her slender waist, ambiguously visible through the semi-transparent white lace gown, was dazzling.

His hand resting on the edge of the bathtub slowly clenched.

Lu Wanwan’s face heated up and catching a glimpse of the bathtub from the corner of her eyes, she quickly withdrew her gaze.

“Give it here.” Gu Annan’s husky voice spoke, reaching out his hand towards her.

“Don’t worry, this isn’t one of the wet ones. This one is clean,” she said, extending her hand to pass it to him.

Gu Annan extended his arm and, as he touched her trembling fingertips while grabbing the towel, suddenly changed his mind.

The white towel was flung aside, and Lu Wanwan felt a tight grip around her waist as the splashy sound of water interrupted, and her whole body was plunged into the bathtub, leaving her no way out.

She opened her eyes, and the handsome face close before her still seemed a bit tense, his eyes tinged with anger watched the words, yet her body was tightly circled in the water.

“What is this supposed to mean, huh?” He pressed her against the edge of the bathtub, resisting the impulse to indulge his inner urges.

Lu Wanwan, he knew her temperament very well; suddenly wearing a sexy nightgown into the bathroom, her innocent face surely had other motives.

“Seeing you angry,” she said a bit defeatedly, her eyes widening as she looked up at him.

And her face, was it being held down tightly by him or should it be described as ‘cradled in the palm’?

“And being angry all the time.”

Gu Annan raised his brows in surprise, his thin lips lightly pursed, his voice still sounding icy cold, “Just because of that?”

Lu Wanwan nodded, pulling out a slight smile, “Not just that. You stood up for me today, didn’t you? So I can’t let you stay angry.”
