The driver nodded, still looking at the man, and muttered, “He’s still got blood on him, and there’s a hospital right next door. Why did they have to carry him out? It must’ve been tough on you, a young lady like you having to take him out.”

Lu Wanwan checked on Baidu Maps and, sure enough, found a Song Clinic, though it was quite a distance away.

She handed her phone to the driver, “Master, could you take a look, do you know this place?”

“Oh, that place, near Chen’s pig knuckles. Got it.” The driver nodded and started the car.

During the drive, the driver asked several times who the man was to her and how he ended up in this state, to which Lu Wanwan knew nothing.

“I’m just helping out, I really don’t know him,” she said helplessly, “but if I hadn’t been distracted and accidentally bumped into him, he probably wouldn’t have ended up like this.”

The driver praised her a few times and finally advised her to still be cautious.

After driving for over half an hour, they arrived at the Song Clinic that the mysterious man had mentioned.

The clinic was a standalone small building, a short walk from the roadside.

“Does no one recognize him, or is there no one here waiting for him?” Lu Wanwan didn’t want to just leave him there, “He asked to be brought to this clinic. I assumed he had friends here.”

One of the nurses said, “Wait a moment, I’ll make a phone call.”

A male doctor opened his coat, revealing a white shirt stained with blood at the right chest with a hole in the middle.

“He’s been shot,” the doctor muttered.

Lu Wanwan, looking at this person, increasingly felt that there was more than met the eye and began to think about backing out.

As a passerby, bringing him here was already more than could be asked of her.

Gunshots and the like were not something she wanted to get involved in.
