Chapter 50: Where Is That Jacket?

Su Zhixi balled up her fists and had the impulse to scratch this woman’s face!

How could there be someone as shameless as her! Although she relented every time, Su Lianxi would always reach out for a yard after taking an inch.

“What are you planning to do?” she asked past gritted teeth.

“This…” Her younger sister’s expression changed. “Back then, when you sent Yichen to the hospital, didn’t you keep his jacket? Where is his jacket now?”

Su Zhixi’s eyes narrowed.

She, of course, remembered that jacket. Back then, Ning Yichen was lying in a puddle of blood and the jacket was soaked in blood as well. When she sent him to the hospital, the doctor helped him remove the jacket. However, she did not throw it away and, instead, she washed it at home.

She remembered that there was a seal character sewn on the jacket’s collar. Back then, she had no idea what that word was, but now that she thought of it, it was probably “Ning.”

“Did Ning Yichen ask you?” Su Zhixi guessed.

Su Lianxi should not have known about that jacket’s existence, and since she asked, Ning Yichen probably mentioned it before.

Su Lianxi sneered. “It seems like that jacket is indeed with you and you’ve never mentioned it. Could it be that you want to use that jacket as evidence?”

Su Zhixi did not respond.

She used to think this way, but having seen Ning Yichen’s unconditional trust and tolerance toward Su Lianxi, she gave up.

“If you hadn’t mentioned it, I would’ve totally forgotten about it.” She only spoke after pausing for a while. “If I don’t give you that jacket, I probably won’t be able to get that prize money, right?”

“That’s right,” her younger sister replied with a smile.

“I can give it to you, but it’ll be after the competition ends tomorrow.” She shot her a glance.

“No way!” Su Lianxi rejected it outrightly. “I want that jacket right now!”

“I don’t even know where I threw it and I have no time right now to look for it. I still have to prepare for my competition tomorrow.” Su Zhixi smiled at her younger sister. “If you think that this can’t work, then forget it.”

Her younger sister glared angrily at her and said, “Sure! If you dare to go back on your words, I won’t let you graduate!”

Su Zhixi smiled and entered the meeting room before closing the door harshly and locking Su Lianxi out.

Su Lianxi gave a contemptuous smile and did not take it to heart. She would very soon star in Director Chen Xuhua’s new movie. If Ning Yichen had not asked about that jacket, she would not have wasted her time on Su Zhixi!

She harrumphed and sashayed away.

Sitting in the meeting room, it was rare that Su Zhixi did not work on her laptop immediately.

She had kept the jacket, which Ning Yichen was wearing on the day of the accident, well in her cabinet. However, after tomorrow, she would have to give this jacket to Su Lianxi. That would mean that she’d completely given up on the chance to tell Ning Yichen the truth.

It would be a lie to say that she was not feeling upset.

Back then, when she saw him lying on the bed, she did not expect their relationship to end like this. She used to think that even if they could not become lovers, they would be friends. However, right now, because of Su Lianxi, they were foes.

Her nose tingled and tears fell from her eyes.

She harshly wiped the tears and turned on her laptop to start working.

No matter what happened, she could not lose the competition tomorrow.
