Chapter 53: A Pipe Dream

When Su Zhixi heard Ning Yichen’s voice, her heart sank immediately!

She instantly realized what she had left behind.

She turned her head around quickly and found that jacket in the man’s hands. He stared at the “Ning” word on the collar, which had faded slightly, and his expression was terrifying.

Her breathing intensified as though she was waiting for her sentence to be meted out.

The man opened the door and walked right up to her as he bored into her.

“Where did you get this jacket from?” he asked in a deep voice.

Su Zhixi was panic-stricken as she looked at that piece of clothing.

“Su Zhixi, speak!” His voice sounded stifled and hoarse, and it seemed to be infused with rage.

She lifted her head and smiled calmly. “I picked it up, what’s wrong?”

“Picked it up? I think you’ve stolen it, isn’t that right?” He sneered. “Lianxi’s guess was right. You’re the one who tried to steal her credit!”

Su Zhixi’s mind went blank and she suddenly felt that the sun was particularly glaring today.

She laughed. “So that’s what Su Lianxi said? I stole her credit?”

“If not, why is this jacket with you?” He looked daggers at her. “Back then, she brought this jacket back home and stored it away, but you stole it from her, right?”

Shock filled Su Zhixi’s eyes.

Indeed, Su Lianxi had dug a pit for her long ago. If she went to look for Ning Yichen with this jacket, she would probably encounter this reaction of his.

She found this both ridiculous and pathetic.

“Su Zhixi!” Seeing the woman keeping silent, he flew into a rage.

He hated to see this expression of hers! It made him feel as though he made a mistake.

Could it be that Su Lianxi lied to him?

However, the moment this thought appeared in his mind, he quickly dispelled it in the next second!

“You’re right.” Su Zhixi laughed mockingly. “Indeed, I stole this jacket from Su Lianxi.”

Hearing her admitting to it, he heaved a sigh of relief for some unknown reason.

Yet he was not expecting it. “Why did you do it?”

She paused for a second and laughed suddenly. “What did Su Lianxi say?”

“I want to hear your explanation!” He looked at her coldly.

The woman gave it a thought and said, “That’s because I accidentally found out about your identity. I daydreamed about becoming the Ning family’s young mistress, so I stole the jacket and tried to steal her credit. Are you satisfied with this answer?”

Ning Yichen smiled disdainfully. “Indeed, what a pipe dream! Su Zhixi, you’re really not fit to be Lianxi’s sister! You’re really far too different compared to Lianxi!”

Su Zhixi trembled slightly and clenched her fists.

“That’s right, I’m far too different from her.” She gave an odd smile.

Seeing her smiling in a trance, his heart seized.

Vexed, he then said, “Lianxi and I are getting married soon, so you’d better not play any tricks!”

“No, I won’t. I’ve woken up to reality.” She smiled lightly and her voice turned hoarse slightly. “I intended to return this jacket to Su Lianxi anyway, and since you’ve seen it, I’ll just return it to you straight away.”
