Chapter 10: Father and Son

“Grandma will give you some.” Mrs. Jiang used her chopsticks to pick up some fish.

When Mr. and Mrs. Jiang saw that the young couple were interacting normally, they heaved a sigh of relief. They once again felt bad for and grateful towards their daughter-in-law.

“Your days and nights were all messed up when filming. You can rest well at home and can keep Lanchu and Angling company.” Mrs. Jiang tried to rescue the impending train wreck that the conversation was heading towards.

“Yep.” Jiang Anzhi nodded. He did not seem any different from usual.

“Then you two can stay here tonight. Leave again tomorrow.”

“No, it’d be easier to leave at night.” Jiang Anzhi rejected them straightaway.

There were many people during the day, and it was better for him to leave at night to avoid the crowds. He might be used to it, but it was hard on them.

Jiang Anzhi had always been a decisive person, so Mr. and Mrs. Jiang did not try to force them to stay.

When they were about to leave, Mrs. Jiang went up to Jiang Anzhi especially.

“There’s really nothing going on between you and Fu Qi, right?”

Jiang Anzhi glanced at his mother and did not say a single word. Mrs. Jiang hurriedly said, “I believe in you, of course. But look at all those rumors on the internet. The Chu might be unfortunate. Remember to explain to her when you all go home.”

“You keep him company then. I will go and make his milk.” Feng Lanchu said jealously behind Jiang Che.

“Alright.” Jiang Anzhi smiled. He took the bag and the hand of his son and led the boy to his room.

When Feng Lanchu brought the milk into the room, she saw Jiang Che lying in Jiang Anzhi’s arms. The father and son, who looked so much alike, were looking at a picture book seriously.
