Chapter 1336: Chapter 1336: A Hasty Kidnapping
Qiao Haidong had calculated everything meticulously, even the exact dosage of the drug according to his son’s weight, but what he failed to anticipate was that Qiao Jiasen, unbeknownst to him, had already transformed into an individual with exceptionally robust physical attributes.
In the “black agency,” Jiasen underwent brutal combat training and had also been undergoing drug resistance training; now, he could even withstand anesthetics, let alone the small amount of drugs in his food.
Moreover, to avoid harming his body, Haidong used a drug with relatively weaker coma-inducing effects.
Jiasen actually noticed something was off after dinner. Usually full of energy, he shouldn’t have felt sleepy at that time, but since he was at home, he didn’t think too much of it.
It wasn’t until he woke up that he realized there was something wrong with the dinner Haidong had prepared!
However, knowing there was something wrong with the dinner, he subconsciously felt that Haidong couldn’t possibly have drugged him, especially since all three family members had eaten the meal and all had fallen unconscious.
He thought it was another test from the organization.
So, although he had already woken up, he still pretended to be unconscious, waiting for the drug’s effects to dissipate, as he was awake but lacked strength in his body and felt groggy and uncomfortable.
He planned to untie the ropes binding him while waiting for the drug’s effects to wear off.
But while untying the ropes, new doubts emerged.
The person who kidnapped him seemed to be a novice; their ropework was so sloppy that even someone without professional training could easily break free, not to mention someone with his specialized training.
Just by the way the ropes were tied, it didn’t seem like the work of someone from the organization.
Could it be that someone else was after him? But aside from those in the organization who were aware of his capabilities, no one else knew; to others, what value did he hold now? Haidong was impoverished, and even the house they lived in was rented; kidnapping him wouldn’t extort any money.
Soon, he was taken to an abandoned underground parking garage, where the kidnappers dragged him from the car and tied him to a pillar before taking several photos of him.
Their method of binding was still rough and careless; even after they had just finished, the knots untied themselves.
Jiasen was speechless. To avoid giving himself away, he even had to hold onto the ropes, or they would fall off his body.
Struggling to keep up the act, he pretended to be just waking up and opened his eyes, “Who are you? Why have you brought me here?”
The kidnappers were taken aback when they saw he was awake.
This wasn’t the plan; wasn’t the “hostage” supposed to be unconscious the entire time?
However, they didn’t think much of it.
Their employer had said it was all an act. Although they were told not to actually harm anybody, they were also asked to make it convincing, so they dutifully threatened Jiasen, “This is a kidnapping, get it? Behave, or we’ll chop off a finger first!”
Jiasen feigned fear, “Don’t chop my fingers, I’ll do as told! What do you want?”
“Good, you’re sensible! But what we want, you can’t give. It’s someone else who can provide.”
While the kidnapper was speaking, his phone started ringing.
Upon seeing the caller ID, he immediately grinned at Jiasen, “See? I just sent out the photo of you being kidnapped, and they called right away. It seems someone truly cares about you!”
Jiasen was curious, “Who did you send the photo to?” Shouldn’t his parents be unconscious at home by now?
The kidnapper didn’t answer him; instead, he stuffed a towel into Jiasen’s mouth and took the call.
To let his partner hear as well, he activated speakerphone.
In the silent expanse of the underground garage, an anxious female voice erupted, “Where is Jiasen? Don’t you touch him! How much do you want? Just say it!”
The moment he heard the voice, Jiasen’s pupils shrank in shock–it was Qiao Yin!
Immediately, he dropped his casual demeanor, keenly aware that the day’s kidnapping wasn’t targeting him or Qiao Haidong–they were after Qiao Yin!
