Li Duidui’s face beamed sweetly as he nodded vigorously, saying, “This is the snack they handed out at the kindergarten grandma sent me to. It’s really tasty. It has strawberry ice cream inside and is coated with a layer of sweet fruit skin. I ate one and saved one for mom.”

As he spoke, he felt a bit regretful. If he had known the candy was this delicious, he would have saved both for his Little Demon Rong.

However, a child’s mood changes as quickly as the weather in June, and he soon regained his energy, confidently stating, “Mom, eat it quick. The teacher said that kids who actively answer questions in class tomorrow will get candy rewards. I’ll save a few more and bring them back.”

She hummed in affirmation and unwrapped the candy wrapper under his expectant gaze, then bit into the candy he claimed was so delightful.

The outer layer of the candy was a jasmine-flower infused icing, and inside was a cool silky vanilla ice cream. The subtle jasmine fragrance mixed with the vanilla flavor was sweet without being cloying. No wonder the little one, after having one, could hardly bear to eat a second and insisted on saving it for her; it indeed tasted delicious.

“Mom, is it good?” Li Duidui himself found it delicious; even not being fond of sweets, he thought this was tasty, which is why he clandestinely kept one to give to Rong Yan.

He was also in a hurry earlier because he worried that the ice cream inside might melt and it wouldn’t stay cool, spoiling the candy he had hidden all afternoon.

He stored away the best thing to bring for Rong Yan, fearing that the candy he considered absolutely delectable might not please her.

Rong Yan, seeing the careful anticipation in his eyes, didn’t respond with words. Instead, she bent down to kiss his forehead and softly said, “It’s delicious, thank you, my little sweetheart~”

The little one, both happy and shy, buried his head in her chest, embarrassed.

Sitting in the driver’s seat, Li Shengxiao, upon hearing her say “precious darling”, inexplicably thought of how she looked when she said “kissy boyfriend”, and his eyes darkened, his voice coming out husky, “Buckle up; we’re getting ready to leave.”
