Morning time.

My conscience that was sleeping starts to slowly wake up because of the alarm clock. Still, under the covers, I reach out to the alarm clock and turn it off.

I slowly opened my eyes and check the time. It’s still at a time where there’s no problem being in bed. I don’t want to get out yet… 

I am still half asleep and trying to fall asleep again, but all of a sudden my desire to sleep gets blown away.

“Wake up.”

Suddenly a loud voice, and my body being shaken. Turning around, I see Karen trying to wake me up.

“What are you doing?”

Because of my sleepiness, I don’t panic‒ in fact, I’m too tired to even respond, so instead, I ask for an explanation.

“It’s ok to do it sometimes.”

“That’s not an answer…”

I was asking for a reason as to why she was waking me up.

Karen looks at me sleeping on my bed on all fours.

Time-wise, I don’t have to rush. But to be honest I’m more concerned with Karen.

Karen waking me up is a thing that doesn’t– actually I wake up by myself so there’s no way she should have been here. 

Because of that, Karen doesn’t have a reason to wake me up.

While my brain slowly starts working, I start to get confused and all I can do is watch Karen.

“…..”

Because I don’t know what to say, there were a few seconds of silence.

What is this…?

Me and Karen, as if time had stopped and frozen in place.

Why does this have to happen in the morning?

Because she’s not used to it, even Karen has an awkward expression as if she doesn’t know what to do. 

“Is there anything else?”

Let’s get the important things done first.

She does have some things to say, so in this awkward moment, her mouth opens slowly.

I can’t understand the meaning of this question.

That’s what I thought but I decided to answer anyway.

“If I must say, it’s rather awkward.”

Karen looks kind of disappointed, she stands up and says “Hurry up and go down” then exits my room.

What was that? Following with my eyes as my sister exits my room, I was very confused.

The sister that wakes you up in the morning‒ it’s not a manga.

Thanks to this morning, I’m not sleepy anymore.

Weird…  very weird… 

During class, I felt a sense of discomfort.

I don’t know why but Saya and Reena’s attitudes were strange.

From this morning, out of nowhere Saya asked me “Did you do your assignment? Do you want to see mine?” and Reena said, “This book is interesting, you should read it,” and gave me the book. They were awfully kind.

Well, not actually kind, but rather pushy.

They try to talk to me more than usual.

There’s nothing special today, nothing special happened to me either.

I don’t understand.

“Kamiya Yato”

Suspiciously, Reena talks to me in a low voice.

“What?”

“If you want to sleep, you can.”

Did she hit her head?

I can’t believe what Reena’s saying.

 “Do you need to go to the nurse’s office?”

“There’s nothing wrong with me.”

She seemed deeply concerned, judging from the serious expression she had.

That in and of itself is weird.

Reena doesn’t say stuff like that seriously.

The Reena that usually says “don’t sleep” or “concentrate” is suddenly saying go to sleep, The world must be ending.

Sure that this was a serious illness, I recommended her to go to the nurses’ room. But she says that she’s fine and declines my offer.

Even so, she had a beautiful smile.

That in another way is… scary.

Because of the girls’ pushy approaches, I was very sleepy during the morning classes.

My morning classes end, and then lunchtime starts, but the two are still acting weird.

“Hey, Yato-Kun.”

“Do you want me to feed you your lunch-box?”

“No, thank you.”

I at least wanted a normal lunch.
