“I’ll sit for a bit before leaving,” Ye Shiqing hadn’t initially planned on making things difficult for Qiao Qiao, he was purely there to see her and would leave soon.

But the woman’s impatient demeanor in hurrying him off displeased him, was she afraid that Ye Xiandong would find out he came?

Qiao Qiao’s eyes reddened anxiously, wanting to rush forward and drive Ye Shiqing away.

Ye Shiqing gave her a deep look, then Qiao Qiao, in a rush, pushed him toward the balcony and motioned for him to hide quickly.

Ye Shiqing watched her with a somewhat amused look, then concealed himself on the balcony.

Qiao Qiao pulled the curtains closed, then wrapped up her coat and went to open the door–it was Ye Xiandong.

“Why did it take so long to open the door?” Ye Xiandong asked, out of curiosity, not suspicion.

“I was sleeping just now, didn’t want to get up,” Qiao Qiao replied, avoiding Ye Xiandong’s gaze.

“Sleeping so early? Aren’t you staying up late?” asked Ye Xiandong, incredulously.

Qiao Qiao awkwardly ran her hand through her hair, “I’m not used to staying up late, and I usually go to bed early. Um, I want to sleep now…” she implied that it was time for Ye Xiandong to leave.

Ye Xiandong nodded, about to leave, but then noticed that the balcony door was wide open.

Considering it was the New Year, the weather was still very cold. He wheeled himself over, intending to close the balcony door.

Qiao Qiao, thinking Ye Xiandong had noticed something amiss on the balcony, loudly said, “Do you need anything else?”

Ye Xiandong turned to look at Qiao Qiao, casually asking, “Why don’t you close the door in such cold weather?”

“I felt it was a bit stuffy inside and forgot to close it, I’ll do it myself,” Qiao Qiao quickly stepped forward, intending to shut the glass door.

Her frantic movement only aroused Ye Xiandong’s suspicion, “Let me close it!”

He said, moving his wheelchair onto the balcony to look around.

Qiao Qiao’s heart raced, fearing Ye Xiandong might discover Ye Shiqing on the balcony.

Thankfully, Ye Xiandong seemed not to notice anyone hidden there. He closed the glass door, wished her goodnight, and left.

As soon as Ye Xiandong left, Qiao Qiao immediately ran to the balcony to look for him. After searching, she didn’t see Ye Shiqing. Had he left?

She then remembered that Ye Shiqing had previously been a soldier with excellent physical abilities; in such a place, whether he chose to stay or leave must have depended on his mood.
