Chapter 20: Your Life is Great

“She can’t escape,” said the man who had been waiting, before he turned around and chased after Luo Youyou.

They were in the middle of a suburban forest, and it was night. Luo Youyou stumbled along the way, calling for help as she ran. However, not only was her voice especially clear in the empty woods, but the person who was chasing her was getting closer and closer.

When Luo Youyou heard the sounds behind her, she became extremely scared and panicked. Without realizing that she had reached the hillside, she suddenly found that her foot came down to empty air, and she immediately rolled down the hill.

The man who was chasing after her wanted to continue the chase, but his sharp eyes suddenly noticed a light! How could there be people here in the middle of the night? Not wanting to bother too much with it, he quickly turned around to look for his companion. “Quickly, someone is coming up here.”

“You’re awake?” A familiar voice sounded.

“Sort of,” Li Guihan said slowly. When he realized that something was wrong, he had sent someone to investigate Luo Youyou’s whereabouts. By the time he had gotten the news, more than two hours had already passed.

The bodyguard informed him that Luo Youyou had gotten into a disguised taxi that had already left the city. Thus, he had quickly led some people to chase after it. In the end, they had found the injured and unconscious Luo Youyou. By that time, the kidnappers had also run away.

Luo Youyou’s feelings were very complicated, but her gratitude was real.

However, Li Guihan’s gaze remained as cold as ever as he spoke, “You shouldn’t thank me, you should thank yourself. You were really lucky! The doctor said that there might be scars, so you should be mentally prepared for it.”

Luo Youyou’s heart was heavy. Both of the kidnappers had escaped. Without a witness, how was she going to find out who was behind their scheme?

She saw that Shen Jinhan had just put down the phone, her face beaming with joy. She pulled her daughter to her side and said in a low voice, “I just received news that the matter has been settled.”
