When Elena Evoy was admitted to Minuet Academy as a senior, news of her led to a lot of attention. People at first were curious of her, they didn’t know who this girl was nor do they know who the Viscount House of Evoy were. They were even more surprised however, when she was able to overtake Johann Pertan and take top position in admissions.

“Ms. Elena, congratulations on getting first place.”

Contrary to their assumption that his pride was injured, Johann Pertan smiled made greetings first. His slightly folded eyes were friendly, and his smile sweet.

“As expected of Johann, he’s on another level.”

“Johann is famous for his good personality. He’s such an angel.”

I often hear these, their praises pouring into my ears. Johann laughed satisfactorily in his heart. Now I just need to finish this conversation, and I’ll be hearing their praises of my never ending generosity once more!

“Thanks.”

“. . . . . . ?”

Johann was stuck at the brief and neat response. This was different from his expectations. Usually, the words that follow where praises for his greatness of character, or marvel for his huge generosity.

“Do you have anything else left to say?”

However Elena Evoy was different. That was it.

And at that moment, Johann’s pride broke down.
