Reese could feel the man’s breath and his thunderous heartbeat, but she said nothing.

She had a sudden inkling that the reason this man was acting strangely was due to her.

“I thought I was too late!”

Reese could hear some mumbling beside her ears, and it had a tone of annoyance.
