Huo Mian stared at Qin Chu’s face for three seconds before bursting into laughter. “Honey… stop trying to freak me out, okay? We can joke about anything else, but joking about divorce is bad luck, really… My mom said if couples keep joking about divorce, one day they’re really going to get divorced.”

“Mian, I’m not joking,” Qin Chu said as he got up and headed upstairs.

Huo Mian stood up immediately as well and quickly followed behind Qin Chu. She felt restless and hated what Qin Chu said, even if he was joking.

She wanted to see what her husband was up to, was he trying to surprise her with something?

– In their second-floor bedroom –

Huo Mian walked in with Qin Chu; before she could say anything, he took out a piece of paper and placed it on their bed. “Take a look, if there aren’t any problems, sign.”

Huo Mian didn’t pick the piece of paper up and quickly glanced at it. The top of the paper said, ‘Divorce Agreement’.

“Honey… stop joking around with me, I’ll stop watching cartoons, okay? You can’t punish me like this.”

“Mian, don’t you understand? I wasn’t joking… this isn’t a joke.”

“I don’t believe you.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Chu fell silent.

“Why? Why do you suddenly want a divorce? We’re doing great, aren’t we?”

“Are you afraid of getting me involved with your fight with Huo Siqian?”

“No.”

His silence infuriated Huo Mian. She picked up the divorce agreement on the bed and tore it into pieces. “If you don’t give me a reason, I won’t agree to a divorce.”

Qin Chu’s repeated mentioning of the word ‘divorce’ truly infuriated Huo Mian.

Qin Chu turned his head away from her, too scared to look into her eyes; he listened to every word she said, but he had no answers for her…
