Chapter 825: Chapter 825: Food is Foremost
In the mountainous terrain, only Shi Hao stood tall, with a pair of massive golden wings behind him, streaked with dark patterns, resembling clouds that could blot out the sky!
On the ground lay the corpses of many beings, blood splattered everywhere. Leading them was a colossal Jiao Long, whose head had rolled to the ground, forehead split open, its primordial spirit extinguished.
The sight was truly shocking.
Shi Hao stood like a demonic mountain, towering over the silent and desolate land.
Amidst the blood-stained earth stood a young boy. It was a terrifying scene–everyone from the Demon Dragon Dao Gate had been annihilated, leaving only him, as if a devil king had descended upon the world.
“This is the Kun Peng treasure technique you all so desperately desired.” Shi Hao looked toward the void, smiling brightly. His face was youthful and radiant, but no one dared underestimate him. With achievements like these, who would dare view him as a clueless boy?
Unconsciously, he exuded an aura of command and dominance–a natural byproduct of his luminous battle records forged through bloodshed.
“How could this be?!”
The people of the Demon Dragon Dao Gate were losing their minds. This turn of events filled them with uncontrollable rage, their eyes burning red. Their pride–a Primordial–their symbol of hope, had perished just like that.
Undoubtedly, Yao Yi was the pride of their clan, destined to rise in glory and radiate brilliance for tens of thousands of years. As a Primordial, his future was boundless.
Yet he had just ascended to godhood, only to be mercilessly slain. A single stroke from a divine wing severed his head, leaving scarlet blood searing the hearts of his clan.
“My body feels desiccated, lacking vitality. After slaughtering a Jiao, I need to recuperate properly.” With a splash, Shi Hao dove into the spring pool.
The viscous liquid was like heavenly nectar, aromatic and refreshing. He sat cross-legged, beginning to refine the precious liquid to replenish what his body needed.
The spring was sacred, filled with luminous mist, dazzling and splendid. It was a rare treasured site in this Minor Thousand World, where Yao Yi had ascended to godhood and received tremendous blessings.
“What a pity that there isn’t much left of this spring’s liquid.”
Shi Hao sighed lightly. But for him, this should suffice. His entire body began to glow as divine substance continuously merged into his flesh.
On the bluestone path, his body had been forged by the sea of fire–his veins, muscles, and bones all bearing immense damage.
But it was precisely through this that he ignited 108 light clusters within his body, officially reaching godhood and causing his combat prowess to soar.
However, the road ahead was far from over. He needed to press on. For now, it was merely a moment of respite to let his body recover; otherwise, he would soon deplete his primal energy completely.
At that point, he would face the peril of complete exhaustion.
A day and a night later, the mist within the spring pool grew increasingly dense, completely enshrouding the area!
Having become a god, Shi Hao experienced massive consumption. He absorbed all the divine essence within the spring’s liquid, causing turbulent waves throughout the pool.
Now, his body began to expand, filling out robustly. Gone was the dryness and charred appearance; his skin turned white and radiant, smooth as top-grade jade.
Even his hair regrew, cascading down to his waist–jet black and lustrous. An aura of life emanated from him–youthful and vibrant.
The wounds across his body had all healed, though the 108 light clusters within him still glowed fiercely through his flesh, spilling dazzling brilliance.
The injuries weren’t fatal but required some time to recover fully. After all, they were inflicted by 108 types of Dao Fire, traces of which still surged within him.
The spring pool, formed over countless ages, had condensed into this pool of precious liquid. Much had been consumed by the Demon Dragon Dao Gate, and the remaining portion was entirely refined by Shi Hao.
As such, the pool was now nearly dry.
Emerging from the treasure pool, Shi Hao hauled the Jiao Long’s carcass over, expertly skinning and dismembering it. To his dismay, the dragon tendons had already snapped, the characters embedded in them faded and destroyed.
“How does the Six-Crowned King manage to collect the primitive symbol bones of his opponents?” Shi Hao muttered to himself.
Yao Yi’s gifted treasure technique was now lost, destroyed along with the snapped dragon tendons, leaving Shi Hao unable to obtain it.
However, he wasn’t too bothered. Though it was a Primordial’s treasure technique, it couldn’t compare to what he already possessed. Greed would only slow him down, so he chose to relax.
“I’ve been too overworked lately–time to nourish myself properly.” Shi Hao grinned widely.
He found a clear spring, cleaned the Jiao Long, and placed its broken tendons and luminous heart into a violet bone cauldron to start cooking.
Outside, everyone was struck speechless.
Upon witnessing this scene, the people of the Demon Dragon Dao Gate were about to explode with rage, nearly fainting from anger.
“Wretch! How dare you?!”
Even the Celestial Gods of their clan could no longer endure, their hair standing on end in fury. They wished they could storm into the Immortal Ancient, smashing Shi Hao into paste with a single palm. Everyone was utterly livid.
The Primordial of their clan, a figure meant to be protected by the entire sect and kept from harm, had not only been slain–he was now being eaten!
Such a scene was utterly humiliating!
The illustrious, domineering heritage of the Demon Dragon Dao Gate, revered in the higher realms, now felt like it was being slapped across the face–loud and clear, leaving them seeing stars.
Their Primordial had become someone else’s “meal.” It was inconceivable–how could they bear this humiliation?!
“Smells amazing… almost done cooking.” Within the Minor Thousand World, a young boy sat by the bone cauldron, swallowing his saliva with difficulty.
The enormous Jiao Long carcass, split into pieces, had been tossed into the violet cauldron. With the addition of spiritual spring water, it simmered over the Dao Fire.
Over time, the dragon meat became translucent, radiating splendor. Each chunk of flesh had softened and fully cooked, with the broth turning lustrous white–like heavenly dew–and filling the air with tantalizing fragrance.
Luckily, his cultivation was profound, and his Dao Fire extraordinary. Otherwise, cooking it thoroughly would’ve been impossible.
“They say dragon meat is unparalleled–land dragons are the best. Jiao Longs count as little dragons, so the flavor must be divine.” Shi Hao practically drooled as he spoke.
He retrieved several jars of aged wine from his Heaven and Earth Pouch and began feasting heartily.
Outside, the people of the Demon Dragon Dao Gate were fuming with rage. They had never encountered such an adversary–he made them want to cough blood and stomp him to death.
Even the cultivators from other great schools were dumbfounded, exchanging bewildered looks, unsure of what to say.
Over the past nine months, they had encountered many young prodigies, but never one as ferocious as this–a boy who not only defeated his opponents but proceeded to eat them!
Despite his refined and handsome appearance, his actions defied all norms!
The True Gods of the Demon Dragon Dao Gate roared in anguish. Though they couldn’t stand to watch, they couldn’t resist peeking either, every glance making their insides churn with pain and fury!
The cultivators of Fire Cloud Cave, Luo Fu True Valley, the Netherworld, and the Demon Kui Garden wiped sweat from their brows, silently rejoicing that their disciples had avoided crossing paths with this menace.
But their relief was short-lived as the devilish youth alternated between eating dragon meat and spitting out bones. Then, he pointed to a corpse on the ground, saying, “Get up. I know you’re not dead. I spared your life on purpose. I have questions to ask–where are the disciples of Fire Cloud Cave and Luo Fu True Valley? A single Jiao isn’t enough to satisfy me.”
The surviving being on the ground trembled uncontrollably, shaking as he got to his feet. Outside, the cultivators of the named Dao traditions also shuddered, their expressions shifting dramatically.
One Jiao wasn’t enough? How insatiable was this man’s appetite!
“I… I don’t know.” The expert of the Divine Fire Realm stammered as he stood, his legs shaking like jelly. Looking at the demonic star before him, he was completely terrified. Even their clan’s Primordial had been cooked and eaten–he wouldn’t survive more than ten lives against this youth!
“Speak quickly, or I’ll eat you too!” Shi Hao threatened.
Outside, the people of Fire Cloud Cave and Luo Fu True Valley were equally furious and fearful. They worried terribly, scared the Jiao would reveal everything and lead this walking disaster straight to their disciples.
This boy was too ruthless–even Yao Yi hadn’t been spared. Who wouldn’t worry for their disciples?
“I truly don’t know.” The surviving Jiao was on the verge of collapse, clueless about the answers Shi Hao sought, fearing even a glance from him would result in his demise–or worse, being stewed alive.
Shi Hao continued to feast, initially spitting out dragon bones but eventually biting through every single piece with audible crunches, horrifying the surviving Demon Dragon Dao Gate member until his face turned green. This was truly the legendary “doesn’t even spit out bones” demon, and today they had met him!
In truth, as a Primordial, Yao Yi’s tendons and bones contained the most primal divine essence, serving as an incredible tonic for the Dao-inflicted injuries Shi Hao had sustained.
And so, he left nothing behind.
In just half an hour, he had consumed the entire Jiao Long, drinking even the broth without leaving a drop.
Then, sitting cross-legged, his body emanated a radiant glow as he absorbed the treasure’s essence to heal and strengthen his own injuries, preparing to train again.
His entire being bristled with vigor, every inch of his skin radiating glowing light. Bathed in this halo, he appeared almost sacred.
More than half a day later, Shi Hao finally opened his eyes. The remaining top-tier Jiao expert hadn’t dared to move from where he stood, too frightened to flee.
“Since you’ve been obedient, I’ll give you one more chance. If you know where the disciples of the Heavenly Kingdom, Netherworld, Demon Kui Garden, Beast Sea, and Celestial Clan are hiding, lead me to them, and perhaps I’ll consider sparing your life.”
Outside, the disciples of the named schools felt their hearts skip a beat. This youth was incredibly dangerous, and once he set his sights on someone, that target was as good as doomed.
Unless they were a Primordial of the highest order or an ancient freak, no ordinary person could withstand him.
“I… I think I saw someone from the Netherworld entering a vibrant, flourishing minor world,” stammered the Demon Dragon Dao Gate disciple.
“Hmm, good. Lead the way,” Shi Hao nodded.
In the outside world, the people of the Netherworld turned ashen, their gazes heavy with hatred as they glared at the Demon Dragon Dao Gate.
“That treacherous disciple!” The Demon Dragon Dao Gate members fumed, feeling utterly humiliated.
“Quick, look!” Someone pointed at the stele, drawing attention to the ruthless youth.
“This…” A group of spectators wiped away beads of cold sweat.
This guy was truly incorrigible, his ruthlessness knowing no bounds. Using some mystical technique, he shrank the Jiao dragon corpses scattered across the ground, reducing them to about half a meter in size. Then, pulling out a single dragon tendon, he strung them together into a grotesque display.
Over a dozen half-meter-long Jiao dragons, gleaming with divine radiance, hung in a line around his shoulders–a chillingly surreal sight!
“I’ll die of anger!” A Demon Dragon Dao Gate Celestial God shouted, rage overwhelming him until he nearly blacked out.
This was a flourishing, verdant Minor Thousand World, where the mountain ranges were elegant, the vegetation radiant, and the skies painted in hues of divine light. Spiritual energy overabounded, and rare spiritual medicines and exotic fruits could occasionally be seen, their fragrances rich and intoxicating.
“Are you sure the disciples of the Netherworld came here? Aren’t they fond of desolate, lifeless places?” Shi Hao asked.
The Demon Dragon Dao Gate disciple replied, “They are beings who transform from death to life, their corpses awakening vitality and sentience. They seek out living things, so in a place like this, with its abundance of herbs, they’re likely searching for Divine Medicine.”
Outside, the Netherworld’s members grew increasingly pale and uneasy.
“Can’t wait!” Shi Hao exclaimed, eyes gleaming with anticipation. “I’ve eaten everything under the sun except ghosts–this time, I’ll give it a try.”
The Demon Dragon Dao Gate disciple stumbled at Shi Hao’s words, nearly collapsing in fright.
Outside, countless onlookers were left dumbfounded, their expressions frozen in disbelief.
As for the Netherworld’s members, a dark pall spread across their faces, fury brewing among them.
The Minor Thousand World wasn’t vast, yet it spanned tens of thousands of li. For two days, Shi Hao wandered through fields collecting precious medicines while continuing to heal, allowing his body to gradually recover.
By the third day, black mist surged in the distance, accompanied by flames and faint phoenix cries.
“It’s the Nether Race!” the Demon Dragon Dao Gate disciple said, his eyes lighting up as he recognized the black mist as Nether Aura.
Bringing him along, Shi Hao rode a streak of lightning, soaring toward the location in an instant. Soon, he discovered the Nether beings pursuing a woman.
“Hmm?” He narrowed his eyes, finding her familiar.
The woman was clad in fiery red armor, her figure tall and slender, with long legs, a delicate waist, and a buxom chest. Her neck was alabaster white, and her stunning visage added to her allure as she fought while attempting to flee.
Shi Hao recognized her instantly–she was Hong Huang. They had crossed paths back in the Lower Realm and shared some history together. She was an acquaintance.
Hong Huang, with her voluptuous and proud figure, immediately spotted Shi Hao. Upon seeing him, she froze for a moment, her complexion going pale as she shrieked, “A ghost!”
Shi Hao cursed her for being inauspicious as his figure blurred, quickly appearing beside her.
“I must be seeing things. I must be! Why do I see a dead man? Ah, I get it. You’ve turned into one of the Nether Race–a corpse that’s regained life.” Hong Huang shrieked again, her reddened face a mixture of shock and disbelief.
“Woman, quiet down! Have you ever seen such a dashing ghost? Come, feel my warmth and vitality,” Shi Hao said, grinning mischievously as he grabbed her alabaster arm and placed it firmly on himself.
Hong Huang was left flabbergasted by his lightning speed, unable to dodge. Shocked, she shouted, “You damned ghost! How dare you take advantage of me?!”
“You’re the one taking advantage of me! Look, aren’t you the one touching me? Now this–this is what it looks like when I’m actually taking advantage of you.” With that, Shi Hao cupped her smooth chin and placed a hand on her shoulder, beaming with amusement.
“You… you’re Shi Hao! You’re still alive?!” At this moment, Hong Huang carefully examined his aura, her eyes wide in disbelief. The realization left her stunned, and she momentarily forgot that her delicate chin was cradled in his hand.
“Of course, it’s me.”
“Good heavens, you’re still alive! Everyone believed you had died. Even the sect hierarchs in the higher realms thought so. Yet here you are, alive… alive this entire time!” Hong Huang exclaimed, her emotions swirling tumultuously. Seeing someone long assumed to be dead shook her deeply.
“Are the ones pursuing you from the Nether Race?” Shi Hao asked casually.
“Yes! Those bastards stole a Divine Medicine from me and are even hunting me down!” Hong Huang gritted her teeth in rage.
“Wonderful! I’ve been looking for them. When I’m finished, I’ll treat you to ghosts for a meal.” Shi Hao said, smiling brightly.
“Wait, what?! Eating ghosts? Are you human or a ghost yourself?” Hong Huang fixated her large, bright eyes on Shi Hao, her heaving chest betraying her turbulent emotions.
“I’m human, of course. I meant roasted ghosts. By the way, are there any among them who aren’t humanoid?” Shi Hao inquired.
“Yes!” Hong Huang wobbled slightly, her mind in a haze. First being chased, then meeting what seemed like a ghost, and now listening to his outrageous antics–she felt a headache brewing.
“Perfect! Then it’s decided–deep-fried, steamed, roasted, braised… we’ll try everything. We’ll feast on those damn things.” Shi Hao declared enthusiastically.
Hong Huang blinked rapidly, placing her hand against her chest as she gazed at his retreating back. Her emotions surged as she processed the shock of reuniting with this relentless, savage boy who wanted to feast on ghosts.
Strangely, she felt a sense of peace. Standing behind Shi Hao, she realized she had nothing to fear–his sheer presence exuded an unshakable confidence.
The ghost-gobbling youth shouted dramatically, lamenting the lack of proper condiments, jokingly requesting votes in lieu of seasoning. “Send me some ‘monthly tickets’ to spice up this meal!” he bellowed playfully.
“Thank you all!”
