“Mu Ruyue, do you know the biggest mistake you’ve ever made in your life?” Mu Ting’er laughed coldly and whispered in a voice that only those onstage could hear: “Your biggest mistake in life was being born into the Mu family! I’m obviously better than you, but I’m just an adopted daughter. Why do you share the Mu family bloodline? It’s simply unfair. If I hadn’t been an adopted daughter, I wouldn’t have had to do so much to take away your father, sister and fiancé.”

Hate. She hated Mu Ruyue as well as her own father.

It was because her biological father was too useless that she lacked a powerful background. That kind of waste was unworthy of being her father at all. Luckily, that waste still loved her as his daughter. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have deliberately sacrificed his life to save the old lady of the Mu family just to find her a backer.

But if her father was a dragon among men or His Majesty, the Emperor of this country, she could’ve had whatever she wanted, right? Why would she have had to strive hard for her future?

So in the end, that man was too much of a waste—the kind of useless person she never gave a damn about.

“Are you really better than me?” Mu Ruyue smiled, but her smile looked devilish in Mu Ting’er’s eyes. “I’m afraid no one knows better than you what you did back then.”

Mu Ting’er turned pale. Could it be that this b*tch knew about what happened? No, impossible. She was so secretive about what she did in the first place, so there was no way she could know about that.

With that resolve, Mu Ting’er’s heart settled and she replied with a taunt, “Mu Ruyue, don’t try to frame me. It’s obvious that you’re a waste and even if you can cultivate, you’re no match for me.”

As she said this, she lowered her voice so the crowd off the stage couldn’t hear what the two were talking about.

But soon, their exchange ended and Mu Ting’er’s sword flashed behind Mu Ruyue, its icy tip aimed at her opponent’s neck.

However, Mu Ruyue seemed to have eyes on her back, and her long sword swished up to block Mu Ting’er’s attack.

The autumn breeze rustled and the falling leaves were colorful.

There were now only two people left on the tournament stage.

The crowd looked at the bodies that were scattered across the stage and gulped hard. Even if Mu Ruyue were to lose this battle to Mu Ting’er, who took a pill to enhance her strength, who would dare to still call her a waste?

If Mu Ting’er hadn’t taken a pill, she might’ve fallen in the same way as the others.

“Your Majesty, what do you think of this Mu Ruyue?” Ji Ruya smiled and fiddled with her hair with curiosity in her alluring eyes. “I’m baffled. Why would there be such rumors about her when she’s clearly not a waste?”

Even Emperor Ziyue was bewildered as to how things came about. If he had known that Mu Ruyue had such talent, he would’ve arranged for her to be with his own children or grandchildren at random. Why should that boy in the Ghost King’s palace benefit from her so cheaply?

With this in mind, Emperor Ziyue felt rather unhappy.

Ji Ruya chuckled and said nothing more. She turned to Mu Ruyue and the mysterious smile on her lips became all the more perplexed.

Now, all eyes were on the tournament stage…

Mu Ting’er’s moves were so swift that they were hard to parry. Her sword attacked Mu Ruyue at dazzling angles, embodying empty shadows on the path, making it impossible to identify where the real sword was.

From start to finish, there was no panic on Mu Ruyue’s face as she kept dodging from left to right and avoiding every dazzling strike of the sword.
