Chapter 772: Chapter 773: The Breach in the Wall of Time and Space (Third Update!)
“Buzz~!”
A burst of intense flames suddenly surged from one side and in an instant arrived in front of Chaos Demon Ju Lo, appearing as if it was about to strike Ju Lo’s body.
It was Vermilion Bird’s attack!
Given Chaos Demon Ju Lo’s current condition, if he were truly hit, he likely would be burned to nothingness in an instant. This was the Divine Fire conjured with the Origin Power of Vermilion Bird itself, and its destructive power even exceeded that of the Chaos Fire!
Boom!
Right in the midst of Chaos Demon Ju Lo’s horrified gaze, a wall of Chaos Fire appeared before him, blocking the fierce flame released by the Vermilion Bird.
Of course, the fire wall had been conjured by Sun Wukong. He had long sensed an unusual surge of energy within Vermilion Bird, as if it was preparing some lethal move, and sure enough, his premonitions had been correct.
This Chaos Demon Ju Lo was the guide tasked with leading Sun Wukong to find other Chaos Demons; Wukong wasn’t about to let him die now!
“Great Saint, you can’t let him go, you’ll regret it!”
Vermilion Bird was shocked to see Sun Wukong easily block its carefully prepared flames and spoke anxiously.
“I, Old Sun, have my own plans, he can’t die yet!”
Sun Wukong shook his head, his voice calm but his attitude resolute.
Vermilion Bird gritted its teeth, wanting to say something more, but ultimately just sighed. Not to mention that Sun Wukong had saved its life, just Wukong’s strength alone was something it couldn’t contend with. Now that Wukong was set on his decision, any further words would be futile. It would have to take things one step at a time!
“Ju Lo, you now owe Old Sun two lives, lead the way obediently!”
Seeing that Vermilion Bird had given up on making a move, Sun Wukong dismissed the Chaos Fire Wall and commanded Chaos Demon Ju Lo.
“Phew~!”
Chaos Demon Ju Lo took a deep breath, glowered resentfully at Vermilion Bird, wait and see, you stinking bird, sooner or later this demon will pluck you clean and roast you!
“What are you glaring at? Hurry up and lead the way!”
Sun Wukong, noticing the resentment in Chaos Demon Ju Lo’s eyes, snorted coldly. His voice fell like a heavy hammer smashing onto Ju Lo’s heart. Ju Lo felt a chilling killing intent envelop him and didn’t dare make a fuss any longer, proceeding to lead the way obediently.
Just like the first time Sun Wukong came to the Chaos Vortex, Chaos Demon Ju Lo led him through the central passageway of the vortex and entered the Endless Void space. After discerning slightly, he flew towards the front-left direction.
In the Void, there weren’t many landmarks to use for navigation, and Sun Wukong had no idea how Chaos Demon Ju Lo was determining their direction. But nevertheless, Ju Lo led the way without hesitation, only occasionally stopping to close his eyes and sense their surroundings.
And so, they flew for three whole days.
After three days, Chaos Demon Ju Lo suddenly stopped, pointed ahead, and spoke, “We’ve arrived; that’s where this demon awakened.”
“There?”
Sun Wukong’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. He didn’t see anything special!
“Void-Breaking Starry Eyes!”
A flash of golden light in his eyes, Sun Wukong activated the Void-Breaking Divine Eye to the third phase, the Realm of Void-Breaking Starry Eyes, and looked again in the direction that the Chaos Demon Ju Lo had indicated. This time, he discerned some clues.
Right in the direction pointed to by the Chaos Demon Ju Lo, Wukong saw cracks in the void like a spider’s web, with a human-sized hole in the center, from which wafts of the Space-Time Great Dao Laws were faintly emanating, dragging bits of debris toward the mouth of the hole.
This hole was in the process of self-repairing!
It was indeed a wall of space-time!
In his heart, Wukong was certain that the Chaos Demon Ju Lo had indeed come through the wall of space-time into this endless void.
Although he had understood the Space-Time Great Dao and condensed the Great Dao pillar into reality, Wukong still did not know how the wall of space-time was formed, and how it could connect the present with the Chaos World from countless eons ago. He could not clarify the span of time in-between.
The wall of space-time extended vastly; the place where Wukong had been last time was very far from here. He had not managed to determine the expanse of the wall of space-time on his last visit, and now he still could not see its end because, other than this hole in the wall of space-time, the wall itself remained unseen.
The wall of space-time did not always manifest, and Wukong had been lucky to see it last time. This time, had it not been for the Chaos Demon Ju Lo leading the way, he might not have reached this place and found this hole in the wall of space-time.
“Boss, could this be…”
As a Contracted Divine Beast, the Dragon Cat could sense what Wukong had seen. After carefully observing the direction of the hole in the wall of space-time for a while, a look of surprise suddenly flashed across its eyes; it had also discovered it!
Wukong nodded, his expression solemn but also excited. His body trembled involuntarily with a thirst for battle growing within him.
“Boss, what are you talking about? What is that, a space rift?”
The Dragon Scorpion looked at Wukong and the Dragon Cat in complete confusion while the Vermilion Bird was utterly clueless; she couldn’t see anything at all.
“That is a hole in the wall of space-time!”
Wukong transmitted his voice to the Dragon Scorpion, glancing at the Chaos Demon Ju Lo and the Vermilion Bird. Until now, it seemed that the Chaos Demon Ju Lo had not realized what he had actually passed through. Perhaps, like the Dragon Scorpion, he simply saw this hole in the wall of space-time as an ordinary spatial black hole.
“The wall of space-time?”
The Dragon Scorpion’s eyes widened instantly. Wukong had watched the battle between the Great God Pangu and a host of Chaos Demons through the wall on the other side for a long time. This hole turned out to be in the wall of space-time!
Did that not mean that by passing through this hole, one could enter the Chaos World from countless eons ago and see the Great God Pangu and those Chaos Demons?
The Dragon Scorpion could think of this, so naturally, Wukong had thought of it long before.
To be honest, he really wanted to rush into that hole in the wall of space-time now, enter the Chaos World from before the countless eons, and have an uninhibited battle with those formidable Chaos Demons!
But there was a problem here. The hole in the wall of space-time was obviously self-repairing, and although the pace was slow, it would eventually be completely restored. Once the hole was fully repaired, Wukong would have no way to return; he would be trapped in the time before the countless eons!
The Eyes of the Heavens had already appeared, and the Heaven-Opening must be completed by slaying it before the end of the third cosmic catastrophe. Otherwise, the space of the Three Realms would be forcibly cleansed by the Heavenly Dao. Apart from those like the Hong Jun Daoist Ancestor who had reached the Saint Realm of the Heavenly Dao, all others would become void.
Wukong came to this Chaos Vortex to seek an opportunity for a breakthrough to become a Chaos Saint and carry out the Heaven-Opening act, ensuring the continued existence of the Three Realms Space and avoiding the fate of being cleansed. But if he were trapped in the time before the countless eons, even if he broke through to become a Chaos Saint, how would he accomplish the Heaven-Opening?
