Chapter 612: Chapter Six Hundred and Twelve: Able to Speak

The truck attracted several small groups of zombies along the way since the rear wasn’t sealed.

However, Lu Hao and Lian Jiyue dealt with them effortlessly.

Fu Li and the others watched in amazement from inside the vehicle as the two men wielded their powerful special abilities. It turned out that the man who had been chopping zombies with a knife had an equally formidable Fire Element Ability!

“Experts, true experts,”

someone exclaimed.

“Fu Li, when we get to the E city base, you better hide before they notice. We can’t go up against them head-on. If we can get away without paying, let’s do that,”

the long-haired man said. His name was Nie Xingbang–he had suggested heading for the E city base. Unexpectedly they had encountered so many deaths on the road; though, it worked out for the better since there were only so many Crystal Cores among their group. With fewer people, they’d have more Crystal Cores to spend once they reached the base at E city.

As for the fifty thousand Crystal Cores promised to the two men outside, he really didn’t plan to pay. His priority was to get them safely to the base first.

“Don’t worry, could they really make things difficult for a woman?”

Fu Li confidently replied.

At that moment, Lian Jiyue suddenly appeared in front of everyone from the side of the truck. Just when everyone thought he had come to make trouble after overhearing something, the man gestured and used his Metal Element Ability to seal the rear of the truck.

“Now it’s safe.”

Lian Jiyue’s casual voice came in from outside.

“You scared me; I thought he heard us,”

Fu Li said, patting her chest. It turned out he was just sealing the rear of the truck for them.

After excavating the Zombie Crystal Cores from outside, and without water to clean them, Lu Hao disdainfully tossed them into the trunk.

“Be careful with that group in the truck,”

It seemed the closer they got to E city, the more zombies appeared. By dusk, they had to stop with the group at a small factory on the outskirts of a city district.

They chose this factory because there weren’t many zombies inside–only about a dozen–and the factory’s entrance was quite small. After Lian Jiyue sealed the entrance with his Metal Element Ability, no more zombies could get in.

“Ah, we really owe you a big thanks for today,”

Nie Xingbang said with a smile once Lian Jiyue removed the steel plate from the truck’s rear.

The zombies they encountered along the way had been handled by the two men, so the group didn’t even need to come down. They had indeed helped them a great deal.

“No need for thanks. Since we’re charging you for Crystal Cores, this is what we should do,”

Lu Hao’s words made the group feel embarrassed, but seeing that Nie Xingbang and Fu Li said nothing more, everyone followed and went in to rest.

Su Jin had left a lot of food for the two. Lu Hao handed Lian Jiyue a pack of braised meat, a loaf of bread, and a bottle of Spatial Water, saying, “If that’s not enough, help yourself. Xiao Jin must know you like meat to have left so much.”

The two ate directly in the armored vehicle; it wouldn’t be good to eat these things out in the open and be seen by others.

Lian Jiyue accepted the braised meat and said, “Thank you.”

Before the incident occurred, he wasn’t so fond of meat, nor prone to violent impulses as he is now. It’s probably due to the influence of the pharmaceuticals.

“Are there any other reactions in your body?”

After hearing Lian Jiyue’s explanation, Lu Hao asked.

“You two don’t have any problems, right? Is there any danger on the road?”

Su Jin was still somewhat worried.

“No problem, Lian Jiyue can talk now,”

Lu Hao suddenly announced.

“What? He can talk now?”

Lin Tianzhen asked with joy, as this was good news.

“Xiao Yue can talk now, did he mention me?”

Qiqi also excitedly ran over and asked. She had always hoped that Lian Jiyue would gradually get better, and now it seemed he really was improving. Indeed, the food in the Space was the best for healing.

Lu Hao thought for a moment and replied, “He said Qiqi trimmed his nails for him.”

Watching Qiqi’s happy face, Su Jin said, “Do you think it might trigger him to remember something from the past if you go to the E City base?”

“Does Qiqi hope he can recover his memory?”

Qiqi said with her head lowered, seemingly thinking everyone treats her as a child, but she didn’t want Xiao Yue to do the same.

“Qiqi, let’s not worry about the future, shall we? We can’t predict what lies ahead for anyone. As long as we are all together and well now, that’s enough, right?”

Mao Zhihang came over to comfort his daughter, it seemed that at Qiqi’s age, having friends was really important.
