After an unknown amount of time, the light in the emergency room went out.

The doctor walked out, met Mr. Lin’s pleading eyes, and after a moment of silence, shook his head with unwillingness, “I’m sorry, we’ve done all we could…”
Mr. Lin’s head thundered, and in an instant, his mind went blank.

He stared at the doctor, his lips pale and quivering, wanting to say something, yet he could not make a sound, as tears had already unknowingly wet his cheeks.

Soon afterward, several nurses wheeled out Tang Biquin from the emergency room.

The white cloth covering her was pulled high, covering her head as well.

Mr. Lin’s fingertips trembled slightly, desperately trying to suppress his breathing, reaching out to lift the white cloth.
