Lin Shuangqiao looked down, and after a long silence, she whispered, “Talking about… Doctor Shao…”

“Saying that you abused your power and provoked Miss Liang first. That all the blame was yours,” Pei Huaian said bluntly, regardless of Lin Shuangqiao’s increasingly unpleasant expression.

Lin Shuangqiao hadn’t expected Pei Huaian to be so forthright. Glancing at the person beside her, she saw a smile playing on her lips but couldn’t fathom her intention.

“You may leave,” Shao He said with an icy tone.

Surprised, Lin Shuangqiao looked up at her, “No… Doctor Shao, I can’t leave, you can’t drive me away.”

Shao He’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, clearly showing her impatience, “Get out.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Shuangqiao immediately began to sob, “Your Highness the Fifth Prince, please save me. I truly don’t want to leave this place; I have nowhere else to go.”

“So what?” Pei Huaian asked with an almost mocking smile. He found Lin Shuangqiao’s acting utterly unconvincing.

Lin Shuangqiao was stunned, unable to believe what she was hearing.

“Your Highness, I beg you, plead for mercy on my behalf,” Lin Shuangqiao said, tearfully and pathetically.

Pei Huaian looked disgusted, then turned to glance at the taciturn Shao He, “This is Anji Hall, and this prince has no say here.”

Shao He gave Lin Shuangqiao a cold look and responded icily, “I had given you a chance; it was you who did not cherish it. How can you blame me?”

Upon hearing this, Lin Shuangqiao’s heart sank. She felt it was unfair–if she were to be sent away, what would become of all her grievances and hard work?

“No, this is Anji Hall, and Doctor Shao is just a consulting physician here; you have no right to send me away!” Lin Shuangqiao clenched her teeth, her reply firm.

“Oh?” Shao He arched an eyebrow, her lips curling into a mocking smile, “Since that’s the case, who do you think should send you away?”

“Don’t know if Yun Qian has that authority? Or does it have to be her who goes out to drive you away?”

Pei Huaian remained silent, but his gaze on Lin Shuangqiao was more serious and piercing than ever.

This made Lin Shuangqiao tremble with fear, “This…”

“Will you leave on your own, or shall I have Yun Qian come out and make you leave?” Shao He said impatiently.

Lin Shuangqiao stood motionless for a moment, realizing that Yun Qian would surely side with Shao He. It seemed impossible for her to stay any longer.

Shao He let out a light laugh and playfully asked, “What if I was really just picking a fight?”
