- Chapter 734 - Chapter 734 Chapter 734 Little Uncle Im Hurt
Chapter 734: Chapter 734: Little Uncle, I’m Hurt Chapter 734: Chapter 734: Little Uncle, I’m Hurt Abigail Green was stunned by this barrage of questions and didn’t know which one to answer first.
Doctor Graham also realized that he was being somewhat abrupt and quickly explained, “I was just too excited. Please don’t take offense, Miss Green. A medical prodigy like you is truly rare.”
“You flatter me,” Abigail replied politely, her face showing a faint smile that was neither too rude nor too friendly.
Brandon Piers, satisfied after hearing others praise his little woman, turned to Joshua Piers, “Can we leave now?”
Joshua ignored Brandon and looked at Abigail. “I think Doctor Graham’s suggestion is excellent. Miss Green, why don’t you consider joining a hospital under Evergrowing? You can set your own conditions.”
“Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Joshua, but I’m only a sophomore student. The most important thing for me right now is to complete my studies.” Abigail’s voice was calm, yet her refusal left no room for negotiation.
Doctor Graham, who had been staring fervently at Abigail, was stunned and somewhat dazedly asked, “A… sophomore student? May I ask how old you are, Dr. Green?”
Abigail had a good impression of this Doctor Graham, who seemed to be a medical fanatic, so her tone was gentle. “I’ll be twenty in a month and a half.”
Bang!
Doctor Graham was so shocked that he couldn’t stand still and banged his head against the door. He had thought this young woman looked young. He didn’t realize she was actually that young.
A cardiac surgery genius at twenty. Wasn’t that a bit too exaggerated?
Doctor Graham pointed at the girl on the hospital bed who had just undergone surgery and then at Abigail Green, feeling a sense of surrealism. Finally, he looked hesitantly at the two emergency doctors who had assisted Abigail.
The two doctors seemed to know what Doctor Graham wanted to ask. They nodded like crazy, as if telling him, “Yes, it’s exactly what you think.”
Doctor Graham was speechless.
He suddenly began to question his life.
Joshua, who had previously been uncertain about Abigail Green’s medical skills, now understood by looking at Doctor Graham’s reaction and the expressions of the two emergency doctors. He looked at Abigail with a complex expression. He began to understand why Brandon, who had been given a death sentence, was still alive and well.
It turned out to be because of this woman.
This Abigail Green certainly kept surprising people.
Doctor Graham took a while to calm down before asking in a trembling voice, “May I ask under whom you studied, Dr. Green? Which school are you currently attending?”
In his eyes, a genius like Abigail Green must either come from a family of doctors or a prestigious school. He couldn’t help but wonder which famous school abroad she came from. He would spare no expense to send his son there in the future.
“Medical University, under Old Mr. Smith. I apprenticed with him when I started school last year.” Mentioning her mentor paused Abigail for a moment. She thought, Is this not technically a lie?
Talking about her grandfather, Abigail couldn’t help but wonder when her grandparents would return.
Doctor Graham thought he had misheard, “Medical University? Apprenticed last year?”
Abigail looked at him calmly, as if asking, “Is there a problem?”
Doctor Graham stood there woodenly. What problem? He didn’t have any problems. He just wanted to be alone for a while, then think about life and ask his old classmates if Medical University had become this great.
“By the way, may I use your office for a moment?” Abigail asked politely after Doctor Graham had finally finished his questions, glancing at the man beside her.
“Of course,” Doctor Graham replied instantly.
Hearing this, Abigail gave Joshua a polite smile and then pulled Brandon along, “I’m going to treat his wound.”
With that, Abigail followed Doctor Graham to his office.
Joshua, who was being ignored, stood there speechless.
When did his presence become so insignificant?
Abigail had already left the room with Brandon and entered Doctor Graham’s office to treat the wounds on Brandon’s face and neck.
The cuts from the broken glass hadn’t been treated since they got out of the car. The superficial wounds were fine, but the deeper cuts still had glass shards. Abigail needed to use tweezers to clean out the glass fragments before she could apply medication.
Brandon hadn’t felt the pain until now. As Abigail started treating him, the pain set in, but he didn’t want her to worry, so he endured it. A thin layer of sweat appeared on his forehead.
Abigail felt sorry for him. “Don’t hold it in. Scream if it hurts.”
“That sounds a bit weird,” Brandon said, raising an eyebrow, his amber eyes twinkling with mischief.
“What’s weird about it?” Abigail looked up, meeting Brandon’s eyes. She realized what he meant from his mischievous smile and blushed, “Be serious.”
“You want me to scream, then you want me to be serious. What exactly do you want?” Brandon teased Abigail on purpose.
Abigail, while disinfecting the wound with a cotton swab, gave Brandon a big smile, “I want you to shut up.”
Brandon immediately pressed his lips together, pretending to be quiet.
Abigail chuckled, “Can I understand it as you’re trying to please me to treat you leniently?”
Even though she understood Brandon’s intentions over the past month, it didn’t mean she wasn’t angry.
“Will you? Ow… Abigail!” Brandon asked hesitantly when he realized he’d been seen through. Abigail suddenly applied more pressure, making him cry out softly, “Abigail.”
Abigail gave him a sidelong glance and continued treating the wound.
The atmosphere suddenly grew heavy. Brandon looked at Abigail’s tightly pursed lips, knowing his actions had truly angered his little plump friend. He lightly poked Abigail’s soft cheek with his long finger, “I’ll handle the matter with Bertha Swift soon.”
Abigail said nothing. After treating the last wound, she checked Brandon’s previous injuries and looked into his eyes, ensuring there was no issue with his brain. “Alright, let’s go.”
Brandon could sense Abigail’s low spirits. Despite his tall stature, he followed her obediently.
Doctor Graham was still outside, and Abigail thanked him before leaving.
Just then, a nurse hurriedly called out that Miss Piers had woken up. Doctor Graham quickly headed towards the room. Abigail paused, but the man behind her spoke, “We should also go take a look.”
After Brandon spoke, Abigail followed Doctor Graham with quick strides.
Inside the hospital room, Dorothy Piers, her face pale with pain, was agitated by the breathing assistance machine. After a dose of sedative, she calmed down gradually, then looked at Joshua with beautiful, teary eyes. “Uncle Josh, I’m hurting. Dora is hurting.”
Joshua looked compassionate, holding the small girl’s hand and soothing her gently, “Don’t be afraid, Dora. With Uncle Josh here, you’ll get better soon.”
Abigail was slightly surprised by the first impression she had of Joshua. Brandon, however, was unsurprised, knowing this man had deceived him with this face for years, far more skilled than Oliver Piers.
“Really?” The little girl asked, in pain.
“Of course it’s true. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the big sister who saved you,” Joshua suddenly directed the conversation to Abigail.
Abigail was caught off guard. She heard the little girl say excitedly, “Beautiful sister, did you save me?”
