If he had known she would drink so much, he would have arranged for her to be taken directly to his house, and not have to support her every staggering step back.

“Second Brother, you’re so thoughtful. Why doesn’t Mom like me, even though I’m obedient and well-behaved? Is she really my mother? All other mothers love their children, but mine is always cold. Sometimes, she even hits me,” Jing Yuan said haltingly.
