“My name is Zhuo Mengling.” Zhuo Mengling’s name was given by her father, who hadn’t been home for a long time. She couldn’t recall the last time she saw her father.

“Mengling, your mother and brother were taken for treatment as soon as they were rescued. You can’t see them right now. You need to have your injuries treated first. Once you’re healed, you’ll be able to see them, okay?” Jing Xin tried to soothe the young girl’s emotions.
