“Why not? He mentioned you were orphaned. He was trying to convince us to help you, so why don’t you want him to know this?” Qin Xue asked, curious why this woman would make such a request. Was she really in a difficult situation, or was there something dishonest about her?

“Because I was deceived and brought here by him. I just didn’t expect my bad luck to hit as soon as I arrived here. One could say I’m lucky or unfortunate to encounter such a thing,” the woman said with a scornful laugh.

“Do you have the strength to tell us more?” Qin Xue asked as she fetched a fruit from her bag for the woman.

“Thank you.” The woman accepted and began to eat. She was running out of strength, without enough food, she won’t have the energy to deliver her baby. So, she had to eat, she had to keep her child safe, she needed to go home.
