Shi Ying spoke in a very gentle voice, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked at Yanxi.

She made sure to keep her posture very low, not aggressive at all.

Her clear, bright apricot eyes were like pools of spring water, shimmering with layers of radiance.

Xia Yiwan did not come alone; she arrived with Madam Shang.

Apparently hearing Little Orange’s call, Xia Yiwan glanced their way.

Upon seeing Little Orange, she displayed a smile on her pretty face, but her smile faded as soon as she laid eyes on Yanxi and Shi Ying.

Xia Yiwan asked Madam Shang to sit down first, then stepped aside to make a phone call.

Soon after, Little Orange’s phone watch rang.

Little Orange stuck out her tongue at Yanxi, “Mommy seems unhappy!”

“You answer. Let me talk to her.”

Little Orange shook her head, “I’ll talk to Mommy myself, so you two don’t argue.”

Little Orange ran to a corner to take Xia Yiwan’s call.

They were a bit too distant, and Yanxi couldn’t make out what Little Orange and Xia Yiwan were discussing.

He glanced over at Xia Yiwan and saw a hint of helplessness on her face.

Shi Ying glanced at Xia Yiwan, then back at Little Orange. She had a vague feeling something was amiss, but couldn’t pinpoint what it was!

After the meal, Little Orange wanted to play at Naughty Treasure. Yanxi took her there.

Shi Ying was about to follow when she suddenly noticed that Madam Shang had disappeared somewhere, leaving Xia Yiwan alone by the railing on the terrace.

When she glanced over, Xia Yiwan’s lips curled almost imperceptibly.

Seeing that kind of smile on Xia Yiwan’s face, Shi Ying’s heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.

She inexplicably approached Xia Yiwan, her expression cold as she said, “Don’t think that by sending a little girl to Yanxi’s side, you can ruin my relationship with him?”

Shi Ying felt a nervous tension, swallowing hard as her voice turned colder, “I am Yanxi’s lifesaver, and nobody can change that fact!”

“Is that so?” Xia Yiwan suddenly took out a button from her bag.

The button looked like it had been torn from the clothes of a young boy, antiquated in style.

“Yanxi has been a young master since he was a child, wearing only branded clothes. This button got torn off from him by accident when I saved him.”
