Chapter 435: Chapter 421: The Players’ Love (First Update)
At last, fueled by countless buffs, the Cola frenzy team managed to successfully save Caramel and ensured their captain was in top shape for the finals.
Yet, tonight was destined to be a sleepless night because Fanxing posted an article on the Holy Spirit forum section.
An article titled “The Backstory of the Holy Spirit Challenge and ‘The Incarnations of Fureya’ – Character Biography”.
Nearly a year since the launch of Holy Spirit, the popularity of the Holy Spirit forum had been soaring, particularly with the introduction of the cloud player system that skyrocketed the forum’s registrations to around thirteen million.
The permanent members of the forum hovered around one hundred thousand.
The Fanxing Writers’ Team, one of the earliest settlers on the Holy Spirit forum and noted among the few who focused on scriptural and plot authenticity and were master Holy Spirit linguists.
From the time Fanxing Writers’ Team published an analysis of the Holy Spirit’s background worldview, their fame on the Holy Spirit forum had grown increasingly, attracting more players to join in the research on Holy Spirit’s plot.
The posts from Fanxing Writers’ Team had become a weekly fixture for the old forum regulars, who would prompt him with personal messages asking for more posts if he ever missed a week without updates.
In his posts, two major series were particularly popular among players. The first series was background story analysis which focused on the broader settings of Holy Spirit including factions, architectures, equipment, skills, and professions.
The second was character biographies, where individual characters were analyzed. Fanxing even collaborated with frontline reporters for a special program on character biographies.
The first episode of the character biography was about Queen Mei during the initial divinity conflict.
Now, “Holy Spirit Character Biography” and “Holy Spirit Frustrating Moments” had become the two flagship traffic programs of frontline reporters on YouTube.
Today, Fanxing updated the thirteenth episode of the character biography, believing it would be the most popular since Queen Mei.
This episode focused on the incarnations of Fureya. Fureya had been the protagonist in the second episode of character biography, though there wasn’t much to tell back then aside from Fureya’s exile to Biland Island and her condemnation of the Annihilation Sect.
Fanxing had analyzed everything possible in the previous background stories, but this time the incarnations of Fureya gave him a feeling of a major scoop!
That was the much speculated Fureya betrayal plotline which the planners finally confirmed today… It turns out that the Fureyas indeed had their own thoughts.
I asked an incarnation of Fureya some questions during her downtime, and first off, this character is indeed an individual Fureya, from this quote ‘I’ve forgotten who my master is, but the calls of my sisters made me stand here.’ It can be seen that this quote reveals at least two pieces of information: one, this is also a lost Fureya; and two, this Fureya represents the consciousness of all Fureyas.'”
Fanxing paid meticulous attention to authenticity in his posts; his analyses were always accompanied by screenshots of in-game dialogues or recorded texts to prove he wasn’t making things up.
Thus, before he wrote this post… he had a long chat with some incarnations of Fureya during their downtime, eventually reaching a dreadful conclusion.
The incarnations of Fureya participating in this Holy Spirit Challenge could likely represent the thoughts of all Fureyas. The thoughts, roughly in the screenshot, went as follows.
Fanxing then posted a series of dialogue boxes for this character.
Some sisters think the outside world is too dangerous, and we should quietly wait for the return of the Holy Spirits, but some sisters believe we might be able to do more for the Holy Spirits, albeit with the prerequisite of self-preservation.”
When I was lost on Biland Island, Biland Island lent me this power, and this time, the Holy Spirit Challenge is our chosen opportunity.’
‘If we win, the sisters might agree that we could do more even when the Holy Spirits are away; if we lose, it also proves that this world is still too dangerous for us. The only constant is… we will still quietly wait for the return of the Holy Spirits.’
After posting these screenshots, Fanxing shared his conclusion.
‘To sum it up! If the incarnations of Fureya win this Holy Spirit Challenge, we might not need Fureya’s guiding stone to take them out anymore! She is not fighting alone; she is fighting for the liberation of all Fureyas! So, all you arena experts, I beg you! Could you please go easy in the matchmaking arena?’
The posts by Fureya could only be considered as a request, but this request received a bunch of roasting from veteran forum members.
‘Give me a break, I’m at 1900 points in the ladder arena, and even in the Diamond V tier, Fureya pins me down and beats me up.’ Responder: I am not a rank slave.
‘What’s there to boast about being Diamond V, my Grandmaster pride was shattered as I kneeled in one of the two matches against Fureya, her Frost effect is just outrageously unreasonable.’ Responder: Emperor Qin and Emperor Han.
‘The strongest king with 3000 points reporting in, I’m willing to feed my ladder points to Fureya, but how do I match up with her?’ Responder: Black Mountain Cyclops.
‘Willing to feed ladder points to Fureya +1.’ Responder: Chronic Procrastinator
‘Not to mention five or six points, giving all to Fureya is no issue, though I’m just a Bronze player.’ Responder: Purple Moon and Blue Sky.
The call by Fureya had… an effect beyond his imagination.
Since the rules for the Holy Spirit Challenge were successively announced, including the decision to determine the initial rankings of the challenge based on ladder points, many players who rarely played in the Holy Spirit arena plunged into the arena to climb the ranks.
The NPCs participating in the challenge were just as busy ranking up in the ladder as the players, and the avatars of Fureyas had played almost fifty matches in the ladder arena since their participation was announced yesterday.
The matchmaking for NPCs isn’t as fair as for players; it’s entirely random, which is considered to allow more players of different tiers to experience fighting with… this special NPC.
It should be mentioned that initially, there were no tiers in the Holy Spirit’s ladder rankings, but later the planners perfected various mechanisms of the ladder system, even introducing tournament-style and team battlefield matches.
However, most players still focus more on the solo queue.
The tiers in solo queue, which players are fond of, range from Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, to Grandmaster and the strongest king, which is a tier that only the top ten players in the server can reach with points above 3000.
After these fifty-three matches, Fureya’s ranking in the ladder was set at Platinum III, but she encountered players ranging from Bronze I to the strongest king.
In these fifty-three matches, Fureya lost seven, all of which were to players above Grandmaster level.
This indirectly proves that even though Jiang Qiao endowed Fureya with skills that players never had and a bunch of mechanisms players found tricky in instances, Fureya’s combat skills were still somewhat unpolished.
After all, she had only been learning with Knight Wasp for less than fifteen days.
The players in Holy Spirit are fewer compared to other games, and even fewer engage in the arena; some Grandmaster-level players can already be considered among the best of the players, and the strongest kings are professional-level players.
An analysis by forum veterans has already suggested that Fureya’s technical tier might be at most Grandmaster, and the strongest king players basically have a near-certain win against Fureya.
Considering that the Eternals siblings can have an even fight against the strongest king-level players… how should Fureya seize the crown?
But no worries! Perhaps Fureya’s combat strength isn’t so dominant, but she possesses something the Eternal siblings never had!
That is the love of the players!
‘Fureya’s point-feeding event starts now! Players willing to feed points to Fureya, post your screenshots below, and I’ll reward you with fifty forum coins.’ Moderator: Hai Lan and Fureya think about birthdays.
Fifty forum coins are redeemable, equivalent to fifty real-life dollars! That’s quite a significant expense.
But under the call of the moderator of the Holy Spirit section, many players have responded to the call — Fureya’s point-feeding event starts now!
