Chapter 24: Madness

Although Ye Yang had only spent one night in Huang Ruobing’s mansion, when he returned to his room, it felt like a whole eternity had passed since he was last here.

Being in his own place, there was no need for him to act reserved. Ye Yang threw himself onto the bed and laid there for quite a while. “There’s no place like home.”

There was a stark contrast between Ye Yang’s place and Huang Ruobing’s mansion. But since he was used to his living quarters, Ye Yang preferred his home. Being unable to get used to Huang Ruobing’s residence was also one of the reasons why Ye Yang insisted on coming back.

After laying in his bed for a while, Ye Yang noticed how much he reeked of sweat. It took a while for him to climb out of bed to head to the showers. Soon, the sound of flowing water could be heard and Ye Yang’s moment of relaxation had finally arrived.

Just as he was done showering and about to get some rest, there was a knock on the door.

Ye Yang was bewildered. ‘It’s so late at night, who could possibly be here at this hour?’

Although he was confused, Ye Yang opened the door. But instead of danger, it was an extravagantly dressed Su Muxue standing there.

When Su Muxue knocked on the door, she did not anticipate a half-naked Ye Yang greeting her at the door. Immediately, she blushed.

Upon seeing Su Muxue, Ye Yang was shocked as well. He didn’t expect her to be looking for him after bedtime. “Why are you here?”

“What? Are you disappointed to see me?” Su Muxue rolled her eyes at Ye Yang in annoyance before pushing him aside and inviting herself in. Once Su Muxue was inside, Ye Yang gave in and closed the door behind him.

“Do you have another woman in the house? Is that why you’re acting so nervous?” Su Muxue asked as she took a tour around Ye Yang’s house. Ye Yang couldn’t help but feel amused by this.

“You show up at a man’s house late at night to ask if he has another woman around?” Ye Yang grinned at Su Muxue. As quick as his wits were, he had no idea what the woman was thinking.

“And you have the nerve to say such a thing?” Su Muxue was irritated at how Ye Yang was teasing her at a time like this. She tossed her bag at him and exclaimed, “You liar! Didn’t you say you would contact me? Where were you?”

As Su Muxue spoke, she jabbed her finger at Ye Yang’s chest to show how dissatisfied she was with his behavior. It was then that Ye Yang remembered their promise.

He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, he had completely forgotten about it. “I’ve been busy lately so I forgot about that.”

Su Muxue flared up in anger upon receiving this answer and smacked Ye Yang twice. Since she barely put any strength into it, Ye Yang didn’t feel any pain from her whacks but instead found the young lady to appear even more adorable.

Since he was standing quite close to Su Muxue, it only took a swift movement for Ye Yang to pull her into his arms. Before Su Muxue could even struggle, she smelled the fresh scent of soap on Ye Yang’s body, as if he had just stepped out of the shower.

Ye Yang did feel a little guilty for forgetting to contact her.

“Are you angry?” he whispered into her ear. Su Muxue’s face immediately flushed bright red in his arms.

Then, she could hear him say in the most gentle tone, “I really wasn’t ignoring you on purpose. I’ve just been very busy, so forgive me, okay?”

Su Muxue’s voice got softer and softer, saying, “Do you have any idea how worried I’ve been for the past two days because of this?”

Ye Yang didn’t hold himself back. His heart ached the more he looked at Su Muxue and his voice became softer.

Su Muxue was still a little angry at this point, but when Ye Yang lifted her off her feet, her anger was reduced by half. And now that she was being embraced by Ye Yang, she was no longer annoyed but instead became embarrassed. “Don’t hold me like this.”

Ye Yang was stunned. This was the only connection they had anyway. The dim lighting added a layer of tenderness to Su Muxue’s already beautiful face. As Ye Yang stared at the beauty before him, he had no words to say.

“Why are you looking at me like that? Stop looking at me like that.” Su Muxue felt embarrassed. Ye Yang could sense her discomfort. Since it was summer and both of them were barely dressed, by leaning so closely together, it was inevitable that they started to feel impulsive.

Moreover, it wasn’t their first time being together. Since there was already a first-time, having a second time seemed to be the most natural course of action.

What followed was a night of madness.

Early the next morning, Ye Yang woke up. Su Muxue was laying peacefully in his arms like a child. When she heard the rustling sounds of him getting up, Su Muxue opened her eyes groggily.

Ye Yang placed a gentle peck on her forehead and said, “It’s okay, go back to sleep.”

While that was what he suggested, Su Muxue got up nonetheless and asked, “Why are you up so early?”

As she whined, Su Muxue put on one of Ye Yang’s clothes. Ye Yang crinkled his eyes at how hazy she seemed in his shirt, and the traces left next to her ear from last night’s madness made his heart pound.

By the time Su Muxue came out of the bathroom, she was fully dressed and the red stains around her neck had disappeared.

“Take me home,” Su Muxue said in a peeved tone.

Ye Yang nodded and they left the house, hand in hand. Upon sending Su Muxue home, Ye Yang turned to leave. Due to the accident yesterday, Ye Yang started acting with extra caution when driving but thankfully, nothing happened.

Ye Yang’s current destination was not Huang Ruobing’s office but Riverside Club.

Ye Wenxuan had a son named Ye Xiaoyu who was constantly gambling with other wealthy young masters at the club, and this was why Ye Yang was heading straight for that place.
