Chapter 25: A Setup

Riverside Club was the largest entertainment club within the city. While it wasn’t restricted to only members, the guests who frequented the place were exclusively regulars. Even if guests from outside the city intended to visit the club during their business trips and such, they required a personal recommendation.

This recommendation in turn required a guarantee fee. Aware of this fact, Ye Yang strode into the place boldly.

The security guards here were harsh as usual when it came to their patrons. And perhaps because they were already familiar with most of the guests that they put up their guards when they saw an unfamiliar face.

Ye Yang was immediately stopped at the entrance by security.

“Sir, you’re not allowed to enter,” the security guard was speaking politely but his attitude was firm and resolute.

As he wasn’t expecting such a reply, Ye Yang was stunned.

Unbeknownst to him, Huang Xudong had ordered for the security personnel here to be stricter due to what happened a couple of days ago. Now, even Ye Yang could not enter the premises no matter how confident he looked.

“I’m here to meet a friend.” Although Ye Yang had no idea what happened, since the guard was speaking nicely, Ye Yang responded in a friendly tone. After all, he wasn’t the type to be caught up by tiny details.

“You may give your friend a call and have them enter together with you,” the guard answered politely while denying Ye Yang’s entry.

Since this was a place for big spenders, the security guards here were well-trained. Before Ye Yang could make a call, the security guards around him had begun communicating with each other on their walkie-talkies.

Ye Yang decided not to dwell on this matter anymore. Seeing how the security guard was passing on information about him, Ye Yang knew that if Huang Xudong was here, he would come down to meet him personally.

“I’ll be troubling you then. I’ll wait for my friend here,” Ye Yang responded nicely. The guard said no more and Ye Yang stood there quietly as he waited. Sure enough, Huang Xudong could be seen jogging out of the club.

“Brother Ye Yang, why didn’t you tell me you were coming?” Huang Xudong was surprised but he managed to quickly recollect his composure.

Ye Yang responded with a faint smile and said, “I wanted to give you a call but since your subordinates have already done their job, I thought it was unnecessary.”

Huang Xudong smiled back at him. Tugging Ye Yang’s arm, he said to the security guard, “Mr. Ye here is my friend, if he comes here in the future, just let him in. There’s no need for this kind of travesty in the future.”

Although Huang Xudong didn’t cuss, the cold sweat had started running down the guard’s back. Due to how well the man was educated, Huang Xudong rarely cursed, so even if he was reprimanding someone, he would only speak with a heavier tone.

After the security guard acknowledged his mistake and apologized, Huang Xudong led Ye Yang to the top floor of Riverside Club.

Riverside Club was enormous. If its decor was to be described with a single word, it would be ‘luxurious’.

Huang Xudong’s most profitable business, his casino, was on the top floor of this club. Even though it was the top floor, there were no windows. The entire casino was brightly lit with artificial lighting.

In such a place, people wouldn’t be able to feel how time flowed. If one were to casually fiddle with their phones here, they might realize that in a flash, five or six hours had passed by without them feeling it.

Huang Xudong was confused by Ye Yang’s unannounced arrival. Since he had no idea what Ye Yang could possibly be here for, he didn’t try to strike up a conversation. Instead, he introduced the place to Ye Yang. After all, the man was Huang Ruobing’s boyfriend, and he had also been a big help to Huang Xudong several days ago.

Huang Xudong wouldn’t be stingy in this sense.

“Brother Ye Yang, do you want to try your hand at a few games?” Huang Xudong asked carefully. Despite operating a casino, Huang Xudong had never gambled in his life.

Ye Yang shook his head. “I’m here because I have some business that I need your help with.”

“You could’ve just called me. You have my number, don’t you? Was there a need to come all the way here to meet me?” Upon realizing that Ye Yang wasn’t here to gamble, Huang Xudong breathed a sigh of relief. Because of this, he started to sound much more relaxed. “After taking care of that traitor of mine, I’m still a little apprehensive right now.”

Huang Xudong was basically saying this to explain to Ye Yang why he was stopped at the entrance.

“I need to borrow your place.” Ye Yang didn’t mind the earlier hiccup. After all, the guard had done his job right so he wasn’t at fault.

Upon hearing this, Huang Xudong had more or less a hazy idea of what Ye Yang wanted to do. “Brother Ye Yang, what do you need me to do?”

As long as it wasn’t anything too over-the-top, Huang Xudong would definitely get it done for Ye Yang.

“Didn’t Ye Wenxuan have a son named Ye Xiaoyu? He’s one of your regulars.” Without hiding anything from Huang Xudong, Ye Yang made clear his intention. “Help me investigate which room he’s in right now. I want to set something up.”

Huang Xudong raised an eyebrow. Without asking why he simply made a phone call to have Ye Yang’s request arranged. Ye Yang was stunned by how direct and compliant Huang Xudong was before a smile appeared on his face.

Huang Xudong was in the entertainment business, he was familiar with most of his regulars and of course, how these people were connected. Hence, when Ye Yang asked for his help, Huang Xudong accepted it without hesitation.

Ye Yang’s target wasn’t Ye Wenxuan whom he had yet to meet, instead, it was He Dong.

And the only way Ye Wenxuan would willingly walk into a trap was if something happened to Ye Xiaoyu.

Although there weren’t a lot of people around who knew of He Dong’s connection with Ye Wenxuan, He Dong was his sister’s fiance so Huang Xudong knew of a little of He Dong’s personal network. Huang Xudong was also aware of Ye Yang’s car accident, but he never expected revenge to come so soon.

Although Ye Yang had only begun laying his trap, for some reason, Huang Xudong had a feeling that Ye Yang might actually have the last laugh here.
