Sharing A Room (1)
On the second day of the Lunar New Year, at the entrance of the Aimin Alley, Mu Wanli was dumbfounded as she stared at several luxury cars in front of her.
Qin Zhufeng, with a smile on his face, got out of the car and politely extended his hand to Mu Wanli. “This is Xiao-Ruan’s mother, right? Nice to meet you.”
Mu Wanli hurriedly extended her hand and shook his hand. “President Qin, hello. It’s so nice of you to invite us on a trip and even personally come here to pick us up!”
“It’s a must. A definite must. The two children play along so well together. We adults can get to know each other too.” Qin Zhufeng smiled sincerely. “Xiao-Yuan has few friends. I’m often afraid he’ll be lonely since I’m always busy working outside.”
He paused. “I heard that my son often comes to your place as a guest. You’re very good to him. I feel extremely thankful in my heart.”
Mu Wanli hurried to wave her hand around. “It’s nothing like that. He sometimes comes to eat a simple home-cooked meal — just a matter of adding another set of chopsticks to the table. Your son is sensible and makes people fond of him.”
As the two adults exchanged pleasantries, Qin Yuan bent down and stroked the little mute’s head. “Xiao-Zhuang seems to have grown a bit taller.”
The little mute stared at him with beady eyes and a multi-colored lollipop sticking out of his mouth. Ruan Qingmu looked at the little mute. “Tch. He finally doesn’t hate you that much now.”
Qin Yuan stood up. “He originally doesn’t have any reason to hate me. He’s only afraid of strangers.”
Ruan Qingmu did not say anything. In any case, Xiao-Zhuang was much more accepting of Qin Yuan than he had been in the past when he would turn his head whenever the two of them would meet.
Qin Yuan helped them put their suitcases in the trunk and asked, “Are the arrangements for Yun-jie made?”
Ruan Qingmu nodded his head. “We’ve entrusted the old couple in the kiosk at the entrance to take care of her. She’ll stay in their house for several days. Anyway, we’ll return soon.”
After all, Xiao-Yun’s eyes were inconvenient and she couldn’t see anything if she went on the trip. Mu Wanli initially didn’t feel at ease with leaving her alone and wanted to decline the invitation politely, but Qin Zhufeng repeatedly called and invited her so that she couldn’t refuse.
Ultimately, they decided to leave Xiao-Yun to stay at a neighbor’s house while Mu Wanli and Ruan Qingmu took Xiao-Zhuang out to have fun together.
“Come, come. It’s cold outside. Everyone can slowly chat in the car.” Qin Zhufeng called out to his son and Ruan Qingmu, “Both of you sit in the same car. I will get in with Mother Ruan. This little friend–”
He looked at Xiao-Zhuang inquiringly. The little one was so smart that he immediately guessed what he meant and turned his head to hug Ruan Qingmu’s thigh.
Ruan Qingmu rubbed the little one’s furry head. “He can ride in the same car with us.”
A bodyguard came over and opened the car door for them. Mu Wanli peeked behind and was shocked: Three cars had come and the last one had two bodyguards inside!
When Qin Yuan came to visit her last year with a large bag, he brought her a several thousand yuan set of cosmetics and the cashmere scarf he gave Xiao Yun was also an expensive brand. At that time, she knew that she had made a mistake and that the boy’s family must be wealthy enough, but she could never have imagined that they would be rich enough to travel with bodyguards.
Ruan Qingmu got into the car with Qin Yuan and Xiao-Zhuang. Old Yan sat in the driver’s seat, turning his head to them. “Happy New Year.”
Ruan Qingmu greeted him with a smile. “Uncle Yan, hello. Sorry to trouble you to work overtime during the Spring Festival.”
Uncle Yan smiled happily. “I’m also basking in the light. How can it be considered working overtime? President Qin told me to bring my family too. My daughter and President Qin’s daughter are about the same age. They’re very happy about their new playmate.”
Qin Yuan turned sideways to help Xiao-Zhuang fasten his seat belt and added, “They have left first and have already set out on the journey.”
Ruan Qingmu let out an “oh” and muttered, “There are too many people going on this trip.”
Damn it. The thought of meeting that old witch was getting on his nerves.
Qin Yuan looked at his gloomy face and gently reassured him. “Just bear with it. Everyone will be playing on their own. It’ll be very fun there. There’s a big skiing place and a natural hot spring. The water is pleasantly warm all year round. It’s said that when it was dug out, several property developers bid on it just for the natural hot spring.”
Ruan Qingmu casually picked up the brochure placed in the car. Sure enough, the main advertisements were the underground hot springs. “Natural resources, pure water, rich in minerals,” and a bunch of other adjectives. The photos were beautiful, with many different styles of pools with rising water mist and open-air outdoor pools hidden in the landscape. The indoor pools were decorated in an exquisite manner, each with its style.
“Won’t there be many people there since it’s Lunar New Year?” Ruan Qingmu muttered.
Uncle Yan answered in front of him, “Don’t worry. Don’t worry. It’s similar to a private club and the number of people is strictly controlled.”
Ruan Qingmu was satisfied with the answer. “That’s good then.”
If he had done it the way he used to, he would certainly spend a lot of money to clear the venue of people. What else was there to see with people everywhere in this mountainous scenery?
But then again, how could there be so many people in the world before? He remembered that the deserted mountain where he and Qin Yuan had fallen off the cliff had a great view. He had spent the night in the cave. When he went out again to look for herbs, he was struck for half a day by the magnificent green mountain cliffs once he went outside.
Qin Yuan quietly held Ruan Qingmu’s hand in the back seat, his earlobe slightly red. “It’s no problem. We can make an appointment at that time, rent a hot pool, and slowly soak ourselves in the hot water.”
Ruan Qingmu didn’t say anything, pretending to be okay and turning his head to look out the window.
Strange. It was obviously normal, but why did it sound so weird when this person said it in such a low voice in his ears?
The words “slowly soak” were said gently and darkly, sounding like something a hooligan would say!
The car drove along the highway for two to three hours before finally turning onto the mountain road. Qianqing Mountain was at the border between this province and a neighboring province, not very high in altitude, but it definitely stretched out for hundreds of miles. Some parts were deep in the mountains as development was not easy and most of it was hidden deep down, preserving the unspoiled and pristine landscape.
