Chapter 54 – My Sister Is Being Charged With Murder

Sierra stared intently at Ijiel. Words began to quietly come out of his mouth.

“So….”

“So?”

“… Dark Intelligence Guild Leader.”

A gleam crossed Sierra’s eyes. That’s right, if you’re the leader of the Dark Guild….

“Are you such a great person?”

… Because he is a person who has all kinds of information about the capital.

“But why are you here?”

Ijiel immediately put on a disappointed expression.

“That….”

“Should I be more precise? I’m asking you why you wanted to kidnap me.”

His mouth betrayed his master’s will and slowly opened. Ijiel closed his eyes tightly and vowed to never look down on Sierra again.

“For two reasons. The surface reason was Her Royal Highness’ commission.”

“A commission from Her Royal Highness?”

“Yes.”

Sierra narrowed her eyes towards Ijiel. She felt as if she had just become a celebrity. I can’t believe that a woman I had never met before and doesn’t even know me well is showing interest in me.

“… That.”

With his rare speechless expression, he frowned and then slowly opened his mouth.

“Because you are Duke Ideos’ woman.”

“Then, Her Royal Highness….”

When Sierra was unable to continue her words, Ijiel continued talking, having adapted to the situation he was in.

“That’s right, because Her Royal Highness is interested in Duke Ideos. The position of the Duchess too.”

Sierra, too, felt Cassius’ popularity to some extent. She had heard about Lady Macbeth from the salon, who was famous as ‘Cassius’ first love’. However, she didn’t know that even the Imperial Princess would also have a deep interest towards Cassius.

The criminal hasn’t been caught yet, but she heard that the murder case stopped at some point. ‘I thought it had something to do with my sister, but it was a murder case? What kind of nonsense is this all of a sudden?’

Sierra rummaged through her pockets for an extra truth potion. Seeing the familiar transparent color and the scent of cherry blossoms, this is clearly the right potion she was looking for. She carefully shoved back the potion into her pocket and continued threatening him.

“You’re telling me the truth right now, right?”

“Yeah, I got a commission to solve the kidnapping and murder case of the infants. Really.”

She asked him twice now and he admitted both times – he was sincere. But Sierra became even more confused.

‘Isn’t the Dark Intelligence Guild a place to bury the infant kidnapping and murder case? They must have a considerably dark worldview.’

Touching her chin in thought, Sierra quietly opened her mouth. She had a lot to ask about him, and she also had something to dig a little bit about anyway.

“So, did you find the culprit?”

He bit his lip at her words. His expression was telling her she had hit the nail on the head.

“That….”

“…?”

He dragged his words longer, very unlike a man who drank the truth potion. Ijiel had barely started confessing when Sierra’s doubts were still young in her eyes.

“… We found the culprit.”

“Who was it?”

Sierra had yet to find the link between the ‘abduction and murder of infant’ and the reason of the investigation. She frowned at him questioning. Then, Ijiel sighed and opened his mouth.

“It was the Archmage Amil.”

Ijiel’s eyebrows wriggled as he didn’t want to say this, but what about the shock Sierra had received? She almost lost strength in her legs and collapsed!

‘Crazy, my sister was being accused of kidnapping an infant?’

Sierra bit her lip and frowned at the idea that her older sister was a suspect in the kidnapping and murder case.

‘Don’t tell me, my sister… hid herself because of these suspicions?

“It is almost certain that she was the culprit.”

That was unbelievable. Is it possible for my sister to do that? She closed her eyes then opened them again and stared at him.

“… The Archmage is suspect for the kidnapping and murder of infants? Say something that makes sense.”

“Yes, the famous Archmage of the Magic Tower. She has quite the reputation.”

She then asked him, raising an eyebrow and pretending that nothing was wrong, “But why do you think it’s that person? Do you have any evidence?”

Ijiel faithfully answered Sierra’s sharp question, “I was almost getting a hold of the evidence… but she suddenly went missing.”

Sierra asked with a puzzled face, “She disappeared to the extent that even the Dark Guild can’t find her?”

“That’s right.”

There is no one that the Dark Intelligence Guild cannot find. If there is, then that person is dead. But they can’t find my sister…?

‘Calm down, Sierra. They can’t find my sister because she’s an Archmage, she hid her traces.’

Struggling to calm her trembling breath, Sierra stared at him. Where in the world have you disappeared? What’s more, what is this being a suspect of a murder case…?

“That’s audacious to suspect the Archmage of the Magic Tower. What is your evidence?”

Sierra raised her head, pretending not to be uneasy and dignified. However, Ijiel shook his head confidently.

“There were some magic tools left in the picture. There was also evidence that the woman in question was forcibly dragging a young infant. Damn it, that picture disappeared somewhere, but it was definitely in my memory! I’m sure it was….”

Sierra thought that he might have just been mistaken for someone who looked just like her sister, or that there must be another reason even if her sister acted like that.
