Chapter 39: Veramood Lunatil

“Separate the carriage and horses!”

Veramood exclaimed. Even for a well-maintained hunting ground, this place was quite rough. If the horses run like that, their legs would be broken, and the carriage would be overturned. And the people inside the carriage won’t be safe. 

The coachmen soldier was quite a veteran, so when he heard Veramood’s orders, he reacted immediately. In an emergency, training always shines in a chaotic situation. The soldier pulled the reins with one hand and tried to calm down the horses. On his other hand, he pulled out his sword and struck the joint of the mandrel connecting the carriage and the horses at once.

With a loud sound, the two horses sprinted with joy, they run in different directions, and the carriage that was driven further due to acceleration slowly came to stop.

Veramood drew out his sword and rushed to the huge monster after confirming the carriage situation. He had his black aura wrapped around his sword in an instant. The monster raised its hand and tried to block Veramood’s attack, but its hand was cut in an instant. It shouted, exposing its teeth. 

While Veramood faced the monster, the soldiers drew their swords and surrounded the carriage. 

“Are you okay?”

“I’m okay, Your Highness?” Ariel looked eagerly at Serios.

Serious sighed, “I’m okay, except for the fact that my heart almost fell.”

“A monster in the royal hunting ground….” Ariel’s whole body was shaking. She couldn’t even look at her cousin fighting the monster outside the carriage window. The monster looked too big and bizarre. It was not something a lady’s heart could handle. 

“It shouldn’t be Marquis Piensha….” Serious murmured. But he wasn’t too worried. Because Veramood will soon end such a level of monster with his power. However, he worried that if the Marquis Piensha had been attacked, that was the real problem—

BOOM!

KYAAKK!

“What?”

Something hit the carriage. It would never be a small thing. The wheel of the carriage was lifted, but then returned to its original position.

“MONSTER!”

“Guard the carriage!!”

Hearing the commotion, in hurry, Serious opened the other window. Suddenly an enormous forefoot slipped through the window, leaving Ariel stunned and then fainted, but Serios pulled out a dagger and then stabbed the front paw with it. 

KIEEKK!!

Serios closed the window as the paws slipped out with a scream.

“Your Highnes!!”

Veramood was stunned for a moment, but the small gap of time brought more chaos and injuries. Veramood’s body, which had been beaten by the monster’s hand, flew for about five meters and fell to the ground. 

“Khek, heck.” Veramood got up while coughing. If he hadn’t been protecting his body with his aura, his intestines would have burst out and he would die right away. 

Veramood glared at the smiling monster. He looked at the carriage with a sideways glance. The second monster that appeared there now was fighting with the soldiers. 

No, it couldn’t even say it was a fight. The soldiers rather than run away in fear, they were beating the body of the monster, which the sword couldn’t penetrate. However, they still did it, and somehow they got the monster got away from the carriage. And because of that, instantly, they became the prey of the monster, and unilaterally were killed one by one, 

The second beast also looked like a monkey. It was a little over two-meter tall and had four arms. 

Veramood ignored his own safety and started running towards the carriage. 

And the first monster couldn’t miss it. Yellow eyes like crocodiles flashed. The enemy was showing his back. Because of its size, it only took two or three steps for the monster to catch up with Veramoods back.

Gotcha! Excitedly, it reached out its hand, but.., its hand did not touch the prey’s back. soon, a tremendous pain swept away through the monster’s body.

Kyaaakkk!!!

The monster, whose wrist was cut off, grabbed its hand and cried out. 

“Go.”

A clear and resolute voice. 

“Sigrid?” Veramood muttered in a confused voice without realizing it. 

Sigrid glanced back at Veramood. “Aren’t you going?”

“Ah.” Veramood run again. 

The second beast attached to the carriage did not become Veramood’s long-time opponent. Avatar blowing off its head, Veramood hurriedly opened the carriage door. 

“Your Highness, are you okay?!?!”

Serious put down his sword and relaxed after seeing it was Veramood who opened the carriage door. He then sat on the carriage seat. 

“Except for Ariel fainting, we’re fine.”

The words made Veramood feel as if he had lost all of his strength. 

Kieekk~!

Veramood turned his head at the screaming. Slowly, he could see the huge monster falling down. 

Sigrid approached the fallen monster and delivered the final blow. 

‘I took too long.’

Sigrid frowned. She came into the hunting ground with only the geographical information of “the royal hunting grounds outside the capital, but the hunting grounds were vastly larger than she expected. Sigrid, who had no interest in hunting, was bewildered because she had to search the whole hunting ground desperately, but fortunately, she came early.

‘Good, i’m not too late.’

Sigrid felt relieved, then she approached the carriage. In front of the carriage, stood Veramood and Srios. 

“What are you doing here?” Veramood looked at Sigrid with a doubtful look.
